The province of Alicante returned to live yesterday another of the blackest days since the pandemic began In March. Alicante registered 1,355 positive cases this Thursday confirmed by PCR test or through antigen test since the last update that occurred on January 5. They are also joined by others 17 deaths in just two days which have already raised the number of deaths since March to 1,090 people.

According to data from the Ministry of Health that was updated again yesterday after two days, the Valencian Community registered 3,809 new cases of coronaviruses confirmed by PCR test or through antigen test since Tuesday, which put the total number of positives at 159,153 people. At 1,355 from Alicante 415 from Castellón and 2,033 in the province of Valencia are added. In the province, the total number of cases in almost ten months is 52,629 people who have been infected with coronavirus. Figures that continue to complicate the health situation and hospitals and that would reflect that a peak has been reached in this wave of infections.

Thus, we must also regret new deaths from covid-19 which, since the last update last Tuesday, have been 58 in the Valencian Community in just two days, so the total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic is 3,174 people. In Castellón, 405; in Valencia, 1,679; and in Alicante, 1,090 in total. That is, 17 more deaths since last Tuesday when the latest data updated by the Ministry were given.

Regarding the discharges of patients, since the last update, there have been 4,288 discharges, according to Health, so there are already 149,598 people in the Valencian Community who have overcome the disease since the pandemic began. By provinces, the registrations have been 16,552 in Castellón, 49,510 in Alicante and 83,474 in Valencia, according to the Ministry of Health.

Groups of a dozen

With the infections, the coronavirus outbreaks, in some cases, with groups more than ten persons infected in the same outbreak. The Ministry of Health reported yesterday of 48 outbreaks since the last update two days ago, 29 new ones in Valencia, 12 in the province of Alicante and 7 in Castellón.

Among them, the situation of Benidorm where in two days they have been counted four more outbreaks that add up to a total of 41 people infected in them. Three have been of labor origin with 13, 11 and 3 cases each (27 positive in total); the other has been of social origin with 14 people. The tourist capital has a cumulative incidence of 126 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, according to the latest data updated last Friday while waiting for Health to report new figures in all municipalities today. In the Marina Baixa, to the outbreaks of the Benidormense town is added one more in La Nucía of work origin with 4 people in the last 48 hours.

In the Marina Alta, Dénia, Xaló and Gata de Gorgos added new shoots yesterday. The first municipality has been adding new groups to the list for a week with 13 outbreaks these days. This last statement yesterday is of social origin with six people. The one in Xaló is the most numerous in this region with 9 people of social origin; in Gata it also had the same origin and has 6 cases, according to Health data.

Added to them is an outbreak in Bigastro with 5 people and another in Orihuela also with five infections; both of social origin. Further, Elche registered an outbreak with six people and with the same origin in the meetings of friends and family like Almoradí. In total, these last 12 outbreaks in the province add up to 87 people confirmed in two days.
