7 dead and more than 40 injured in 10 mass shootings in the US.

(CNN) — As Americans continue to emerge from coronavirus isolation and states lift meeting restrictions, shootings continue to plague the nation, with 10 mass shootings occurring in the US since Friday night.

Seven people were killed and at least 45 wounded in the shooting, according to the Gun Violence File (GVA). The victims included at least two minors, one 10 and one 15, police said.

The latest shootings are among a streak of violent and deadly weekends the nation has seen in recent weeks.

There were also 10 shootings in seven states last weekend that killed 12 people and injured 57 more, GVA data shows.

GVA reports that there have been 293 mass shootings in 2021 so far.

CNN defines a mass shooting as shooting four or more people, not including the shooter. A weekend is tracked from Friday afternoon to Sunday night.

On Saturday, four people were injured in a shooting in Newark, NJ, according to GVA.

Here are the other shootings that took place this weekend.

1 dead and 3 injured in Atlantic City, New Jersey

One person was killed and three others injured in a shooting Sunday night in Atlantic City, New Jersey, the Atlantic County Attorney’s Office in a press release.

Just after 6 p.m. local time, Atlantic City agents responded to the scene of a shooting and found four men with gunshot wounds.

All the men were taken to a hospital where one died from his injuries, the prosecutor’s office said.

Both the ACPO Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department are investigating.

Officials are asking anyone with information to contact the Atlantic County Attorney’s Office at 609-909-7800 or submit an anonymous notice online.

1 dead, 4 injured in Juneteenth celebration in Colorado

Police responded to the parking lot of a shopping center in Denver’s suburb of Aurora after receiving at least 50 calls reporting gunfire at a Juneteenth celebration just after 4 a.m. local time Sunday, said a release press release from the police department.

Officers found a man who apparently suffered a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he later died, police said. His identity has not been released.

Four other people, three men and one woman, suffered injuries ranging from minor to severe and transported themselves to local hospitals, according to the statement. None of his injuries were considered life threatening.

Police said the Juneteenth celebration began “in an anonymous unit at the mall.”

“At some point earlier in the evening, the alleged organizers of the celebration began to deny access to the unit. This led to many attendees gathering in the parking lot, “the statement said.

Evidence indicates that there were multiple shooters and more than 114 shell casings were collected by investigators at the scene, according to police.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to share information with Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP. A reward of up to US $ 2,000 is offered.

1 dead, 4 injured in Juneteenth celebration in Indiana

One person died and four others were injured during a Juneteenth celebration in Indiana early Sunday morning, the St. Joseph County Metropolitan Homicide Unit (CMHU) said in a press release published by the CNN affiliate. WSBT.

Officers arrived at a bar in Granger, Indiana, around 4 am local time, following reports of a parking lot shooting during a “Juneteenth Summer Party,” according to the affiliate.

The victim who died was a 26-year-old man, WSBT reported. Four others suffered non-life threatening injuries in the shooting.

Evidence collected at the scene “suggests that several weapons were unloaded in the area,” police said.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to call CMHU at 574-235-5009, Crime Stoppers at 288-STOP or the local police department.

Granger is located northeast of South Bend, Indiana, along the Michigan border.

4 injured in Richmond, Virginia

Four people were injured in a quadruple shooting in Richmond, Virginia, early Sunday morning, police spokesman Officer Phon Hoonsan told CNN in an emailed statement.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting just before 1:30 a.m. local time and found a man suffering an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Three more victims self-transported to hospital with gunshot wounds, including one who sustained life-threatening injuries, according to the police statement.

The shooting took place in a parking lot where a large crowd had gathered. Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact investigators.

2 minors among 8 injured in Dallas shooting

Eight people were shot, including under the age of 15 and 10, after a shooting broke out between partygoers at two separate celebrations in Dallas just after midnight Sunday, police said.

Police said they discovered that two separate groups were holding parties in their own individual suites at the venue and at one point, people from each group gathered behind the suites and there was an argument.

A physical fight broke out between the groups before they returned to their suites and began shooting at each other.

The 10-year-old boy was shot in the leg and at least one victim had to undergo surgery, according to police.

Police said none of the other injuries appear to be life-threatening.

No information was provided about the suspect.

1 dead, at least 6 injured in Oakland

One person was killed and at least six others injured in a shooting Saturday night near Lake Merritt in Oakland, California, according to police.

Oakland Police Department (OPD) agents were already in the area when the shooting occurred around 6:20 p.m., the department said.

Agents were dispatched there to monitor public safety because a crowd of about 1,000 people had gathered at Lake Merritt, the OPD said in a statement Sunday.


One person was killed and at least six others injured in a shooting in Lake Merritt, the Oakland Police Department (OPD) said in a news release Sunday.

Seven people were shot during the incident. A 22-year-old San Francisco man was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital, police said.

Police arrested two men and recovered two firearms after officers observed the men flee the scene immediately after the shooting, the OPD said.

OPD public information agent Johnna Watson told CNN on Sunday that police were working to determine if the two people arrested were related to the shooting.

Crime Stoppers of Oakland and the Oakland Police Department are offering up to $ 40,000 for information leading to an arrest or arrests in this case.

1 dead, 4 injured in Anchorage, Alaska

Alaska police are investigating a morning shooting that killed one person and injured four more in Anchorage on Saturday.

Officers responded to the scene of a shooting and found five adult victims, three men and two women, police said.

The five people were taken to a hospital where one of the women died from her injuries.

2 dead, 4 injured in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Two people were killed and four others injured in a shooting early Saturday in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, according to police.

Police found the victims in a parking lot after reports of a shooting.

According to the police, there was an argument between unidentified people when a group of partygoers started leaving a concert at a nearby location. During the discussion, several people started shooting and six people were beaten.

Two people died from their injuries and four others were transported to a nearby hospital and are expected to survive, police said.

5 injured in Minneapolis Friday night

A shooting in Minneapolis on Friday night left five injured, police said Saturday.

Officers responded to reports of shooting in the Dinkytown neighborhood, a Minneapolis Police Department spokesman said in a statement.

When officers arrived, they found three men and two women with non-life threatening gunshot wounds, police said. Two of the injuries were characterized as “rubbing” wounds. The victims were taken to a hospital.

The suspect fled before officers arrived, police said.
