A judge for the district of New Mexico (USA) approved this Thursday the conciliation agreement between Alec Baldwin, as a producer of Rustand the family of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, who died after being shot during the filming of that film in October 2021.

“The agreement is fair, appropriate and looks after the best interest of Andros Hutchins, a protected minor,” Judge Bryan Biedscheid said in the order issued this Thursday, according to the aforementioned outlet.

Hutchins’ direct family members filed a wrongful death lawsuit in February of last year alleging that Baldwin, as well as the rest of the producers, acted recklessly and did not respect the security protocols established for filming, which caused the death of the Hutchins. photography professional.

However, Matthew Hutchins, married to the director, surprisingly announced in October that he had reached an understanding with those responsible for the film for which he became executive producer of Rust and that the recordings resumed this year in the state of Montana.

The judicial approval of this agreement has come just over a month after the New Mexico prosecutor’s office formally dropped the charges against Baldwin.

“We are delighted with the decision to dismiss the case against Alec Baldwin and we encourage an appropriate investigation of the facts and circumstances of this tragic accident to be carried out,” Luke Nikas and Alex Spiro, lawyers for the interpreter, said in a statement at the time.
