A crime on the rise
Shootings in public places are an almost daily occurrence in the United States and gun crime is on the rise in major cities like New York, Chicago, Miami and San Franciscoespecially since the 2020 pandemic.
In mid-May, the United States joined in mourning a racist shooting at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, that left 10 African-Americans dead.
