«Aceites Abril» and «Bosch», closer to winning the Rías Baixas

Aceites Abril of the ourensano tandem of patrone, Luis and Jorge Pérez Canal, took a giant step to once again achieve victory in the Rías Baixas Regatta, after the fourth stage of the classic series by stages organized by the Real was held this Friday Nautical Club of Vigo. In this way, the oil ship joins Ramón Ojea’s Bosch Service Solutions, which competes with a very young crew of homegrown players, including Alex, the son of one of the years: Luis Pérez Canal.

Both if nothing strange happens, they must be proclaimed absolute winners of the two queen categories (0-2 and 3) on Saturday afternoon … but in Rías nothing can be considered sentenced until the fifth round is over, because the tests they all score … and a fatal mistake can ruin a privileged position.

After a delay of one hour in the Arousa estuary, the fleet was sailing first west and then south, with westerly winds of 5 to 10 knots from A Pobra do Caramiñal to across Punta Balea in front of the ports of Bouzas and Cangas, practically in the center of the Vigo estuary … where the judges placed the finish line, leaving the route of what was the fourth stage in 26 nautical miles

The descent had moments of anguish due to several stops in the wind that slowed the fleet, especially along the Costa de la Vela (between the estuaries of Pontevedra and Vigo) when Magical, who always figured in the lead … went from sailing from 8 to 2 knots …

Fortunately the wind appeared immediately and Julio Rodríguez’s Swan 42 crossed the finish line, after turning Punta Subrido, majestically in the Vigo estuary … crossing the finish line with a good time: 03.17.41. After him Solventis and later they did it in the same second Arroutado and literally glued to his stern Aceites Abril … the smallest handicap of those from Ourense played in favor of those from Santiago … this time Ourense could with the Compos … at the edge of time regulatory.

Further back the Pairo-Marnatura, and the rest of the class of large ships: Maitena and Uso Vuela de Getxo, the Marías de Baiona and the Aldán of the Spanish Armada. The aprils were three points ahead in the general classification and closed the Class 0-2, except for surprise.

In class 3, fourth victory for the Bosch Service Solutions, after him the Ozosana del Náutico de León and the Eleko-Mambo. The difference is abysmal in favor of Canido’s boat, led by Ramón Ojea.

The same thing happens with the Black Burla del Castrelo de Miño de Ourense that repeated victory … here in class 4-5 the fight is from second to fourth in charge of Balea Dous by Luis Pérez, Maracaná del Marítimo de Panxón and Deep Blue 2.1 of the Náutico de Vigo.

Splendid Salseiro del Náutico de La Coruña by Manuel Blanco, who won in real time and compensated in the Open category … his fantastic time of 03.36.54 was worth him to overcome the Txole del Monte Real Club de Yates, which is the great favorite and the Berlinguiño from the Real Club Náutico de Sanxenxo … the Coruñés is already the leader. In Open 2 Nahela de La Guardia, is practically the winner of the class.

For Saturday the fifth and last stage in the waters of Vigo … the 25-mile Vuelta a Cíes wait … the departure at 1:00 p.m. for the ORC 0-1-2-3 boats and at 1:30 p.m. for the rest … the judges will be able to choose between two options : mark the fleet leaving the Cíes to port or starboard.

The closing of the Mar de Maeloc Rías Baixas Regatta, at eight o’clock in the afternoon at the Real Club Náutico de Vigo, with all the sanitary measures for that purpose… chaired by the mayor of Vigo, Abel Caballero
