Acer presents its new Swift Edge laptop: OLED screen and Ryzen 5 6800U processor

We are reaching the end of the year and the technology brands do not want to save anything for the Christmas campaign. In this situation, Acer has just introduced us to its latest professional laptop.

The steel Swift Edge is designed to be the laptop for people who want a very light computer but without giving up a generous screen. To get an ideaweighs only 1.2 kilograms and is 14 millimeters thick.

If we do numbers, this is a weight that could be expected from a small laptop 13-inch and not one with a 16-inch screen. The Acer Swift Edge wants to gain a foothold with these weapons. Indeed, the best of steel this year it’s your crazy graphics card design.

Made from a magnesium-aluminum alloy, the Swift Edge is strikingly similar to the LG Gram 16 that we’ve already reviewed here. And yet, the Acer is slightly thinner and weighs a little less. Will this affect its durability?

Despite wanting lighter devices, there is a point where a laptop is too light and is perceived as cheap or flimsy. LThe alloy used for the chassis is twice as strong as normal aluminum, says Acer. For this reason we do not believe that it will be a team prone to break.

Perfect specifications for office automation and photo editing, but not gaming

This model is available in several markets (European and American). The price of 1,500 euros includes a screen 16-inch (16:10) 4K (3480×2400 pixels) OLED with 400 nits brightness and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut.

The screen also has VESA True Black HDR500 certification with a maximum brightness of 616 nits with HDR activatedhouse brand already in its line of professional laptops.

The Swift Edge will finally be available with an AMD Ryzen Pro 6000 U-series processor. AMD Pro processors are embedded with a Microsoft Pluton security chip to protect your data and identity from the chip to the cloud.

Based on the security architecture used in the Xbox One game consolePluto adds better protection against physical attacks as well as firmware attacks as it receives regular firmware updates as part of Microsoft’s Patch Tuesday.

If you’re tired of working on a small laptop screen, but don’t want to lug around a heavy laptop the Acer Swift Edge solves that problem. And it also has a beautiful OLED screen. Of course, forget about gaming, this is a professional team.
