Light, compact and OLED
Acer brags about its laptop claiming that it is the “world’s lightest 16-inch OLED laptop”. And is that the new Acer Swift Edge weighs little more than a kilo, a fairly correct figure if we think of carrying it in a backpack or bag to telework or move it around the house. Its thickness, by the way, is 12.95 mm, so we are facing a relatively compact device. The chassis is made of a magnesium-aluminum alloy.
For the screen, Acer has opted for OLED technology, something that we are starting to see more and more. This particular model uses a 16-inch screen with 4K resolution in 16:10 format. A squarer panel designed for productivity. It reproduces 100% of the DCI-P3 color space, promises a response time of 0.2 milliseconds and, in addition to having VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 500, the panel occupies, according to Acer, 92% of the front.
Under the hood, the Acer Swift Edge packs Ryzen 6000 Pro and Ryzen 6000 series chips, depending on configuration. They will be accompanied by up to 32 GB of RAM, up to 1 TB of NVMe SSD storage and a Radeon Graphics GPU. it is clear his vocation for work, but to play it will be necessary to opt for other solutions or services in the cloud. The battery, by the way: 54 WHr to give life to Windows 11 (with support for Microsoft Pluto).
Finally, it should be noted that the laptop incorporates USB type C and A ports, an HDMI 2.1 output, audio and microphone combo, DTS Audio, FullHD webcam and fingerprint reader. As for wireless connectivity, no compromises: Bluetooth 5.2 and WiFi 6E.
