Cote d’Ivoire is going head to head with Egypt in their Round of 16 match in the ongoing African Cup Of Nations tournament. The teams will kick off at 9:30 PM IST, live from Douala Stadium, Cameroon.
Cote d’Ivoire have been a force to reckon with in this edition of the tournament. They come into this game on the back of 2 wins and draw in the group stages. They won their first game 1-0 in before playing out a disappointing 2-2 draw against Sierra Leone. In the third and final group game, they defended champions Algeria by thrashing them 3-1.
The Ivory Coast side is the hot favorite this year to be crowned champions of Africa. The team will be desperate to replicate their 2015 heroics and win the tournament once again.
Egypt started their tournament with a shocking loss to Nigeria. They were outplayed by the Nigerians in the game and won the match with a 1-0 scoreline. However, the Egyptians bounced back in a sublime manner picking up 1-0 victories over lowly sides Guinea-Bissau and Sudan in the remaining games respectively.
Cote d’Ivoire have been unbeaten in the tournament so far and are the second highest-scoring team with six goals in three games. Arsenal star Pepe and Crystall palace super winger Wilfried Zaha will lead Cote d’Ivoire’s surge for a place in the quarterfinals.
While Egypt have their own misery to solve. They have been underperforming and will be looking to better it in this potential do-or-die match. Egypt will heavily rely on Liverpool superstar, Mohammad Salah to spark some magic otherwise they’ll be packing their bags tonight.
