Alicante rises to 228 positives in one day although it maintains the contagion curve stable

Positive cases of coronavirus in Alicante have suffered a slight rise this Thursday with 228 infections in one day, although it is still a figure that remains stable since in the last two weeks the average reported has been about 200 cases. With that figure, there are already 143,180 people who have had the disease in the province since the pandemic began. As for the number of deaths in the last 24 hours, the figure is also one of the lowest in the last days with 9 people who have lost their lives, a figure equal to the one that was communicated on January 14.

The Ministry of Health has updated the figures related to the coronavirus as every day. Thus, they have been notified 489 new cases of coronavirus confirmed by PCR test or through antigen test since the last update the day before, which put the total number of positives at 380,451 people. By provinces, the distribution of new positives is as follows: 38 in Castellón (38,821 in total) and 223 in the province of Valencia (198,447) in addition to those in Alicante. A case has been reassigned, so the number of unassigned cases is 3.

Regarding the discharges, this Thursday the data reported is almost double that of infections with 995 discharges to patients with coronavirus. In this way, there are already 378,000 people in the Valencian Community who have overcome the disease since the pandemic began. By province, registrations are distributed as follows: 38,776 in Castellón, 141,640 in Alicante and 197,527 in Valencia, in addition to 57 not assigned.

The situation in hospitals is also improving day by day. Valencian health centers currently have 920 people admitted: 85 in the province of Castellón, with 15 patients in ICU; and 416 in the province of Valencia, 107 of them in ICU. In Alicante, there are 419 people admitted, 24 less than the day before; and 106 of them in the ICU, 5 less than Wednesday.

In the Community, the number of deaths from coronavirus in one day has been 28, so the total number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic is 6,802 people: 761 in the province of Castellón, 2,559 in Alicante and 3,482 in Valencia.

According to the data recorded, there are currently 7,129 active cases, which is 1.82 %% of the total positives. And when it comes to vaccinations, community Valenciana has administered a total of 373,715 doses of the coronavirus vaccine. Of these, 333,424 are from Pfizer, 13,938 from Moderna and 28,353 from AstraZeneca.

Residences

The situation in the residences of the Valencian Community also registers better figures than the previous weeks. Health notified yesterday only 6 new positives among residents and no new cases have been reported in one day among workers. Even so, five residents have lost their lives according to data communicated by the regional department.

Since the last update, positive cases in nursing homes have been reduced to 61 (5 in the province of Castellón, 21 in the province of Alicante and 35 in the province of Valencia), 12 centers of functional diversity (1 in the province Castellón, 2 in the province of Alicante and 9 in the province of Valencia) and 1 center for minors in the province of Valencia.

Currently, 29 residences are under active health control surveillance in the Valencian Community: 4 in the province of Castellón, 12 in the province of Alicante and 13 in the province of Valencia.

However, the number of outbreaks reported by Health in one day continues to decrease. This Thursday only has been reported 8 new bulbs since the last update, two of them in the province. Specifically in Elda and Catral.
