An educator from La Vega Baja closes a world congress for adolescence

Abraham Fernández during his speech at the congress.

The social educator and pedagogue of Almoradí, who works as a technician for the social services intervention team at the City Council of Bigastro, Abraham Fernandez, has had the responsibility this week to close the Pre-World Congress “For the Rights of Children and Adolescents: Mediation and Restorative Justice”, which was held in Sitges (Barcelona). The Almoradian pedagogue spoke in his speech, from a socio-educational perspective, of the restorative tools for cases of bullying and cyberbullying, as a result of the project that he designed in 2018 and that was recognized by the FEMP and the Ministry of Education of Spain.

In the words of this educator “we cannot relate from any dialogue, but rather turn it around towards a meaningful dialogue and, consequently, the relationships that are established would also be signified. Our obligation, that of restorative interaction, it is only facilitating, responsible and non-blaming so that the people involved are the ones to resolve the existing conflicts themselves. “Fernández continued to emphasize that” if we succeed in preventing the group from allowing any harm, aggression, or in the case of the congress, bullying, the person who commits the damage, who harasses will stop acting for lack of social reinforcement. That is why it is important to stop inaction on the part of witnesses. ”
