Antonio Banderas has made a stopover at the Atrio restaurant in Cáceres, with two Michelin stars. The actor from Malaga had dinner last night at the Toño Pérez and José Polo establishment in Plaza de San Mateo, although he did not stay the night.

Workers at the establishment, which also houses a five-star hotel of the Relais & Châteaux chain, and José Polo himself have shared a family photo on social networks in which the entire Atrio team can be seen with the interpreters in the kitchen of the restaurant. During the evening, he enjoyed the restaurant’s tasting menu, ‘In times of montanera’, which exceeds one hundred euros per guest and revolves around the Iberian pig and the Extremadura pasture.

Banderas arrived at Atrio escorted by the Local Police, since he got lost trying to locate the restaurant, located inside the walled city, and the agents offered to accompany him.

He has also been to Guadalupe and Mérida

Banderas is traveling through Extremadura. The interpreter has released photos of his visit to Mérida, where he was on Thursday. He has also passed through Guadalupe, as this newspaper has learned. In the Merida capital he was photographed, specifically, in the Roman Theater. Surprised by the space and its history, he did not hesitate to share his impressions. “Exciting, unique and spectacular enclave of our history and the history of theater,” he commented through his profiles on Twitter and Instagram.

In addition, he did not miss the opportunity to take a photograph next to the statue of the actress born in 1888 Margarita Xirgu, whose sculpture is located on one side of the enclosure. “Of course, you know where I am, right? But… do you know who this statue is dedicated to?” asked the actor.

His posts have had a large number of reactions and his questions have provoked a cascade of responses from his followers. From the official profile of the Mérida City Council they have also replied, welcoming him to the city. “We hope that this stage has inspired you to put up one of your theatrical productions there,” they invited him.

His visit also raised the curiosity of the employees of the Monumental City Consortium who were doing conservation work on the theater. In fact, the actor was talking to restorers and the maintenance team of this institution.

Banderas, after his successful career in Hollywood, has decided to settle in his hometown, Malaga, to recover his roots and carry out a new project. He manages the Soho theater.
