Atlético leaves two points in Getafe

Although he deserved it in the arreón of the final stretch, when he already had one more player, the Athletic left another portion of his La Liga lead advantage in Getafe. Simeone’s team completed more than an hour of play with a bland game, unable to chain good minutes of play and chances. In the end, an unsatisfactory point, especially after the victory of Real Madrid, to six points, and waiting for what Barça adds this Monday, which is eight.

Atlético came out to the game full of vitality, with nerve and vigor in search of a goal, although Getafe was not daunted and it cost a lot to those of Simeone generate dangerous occasions. Just one shot from Carrasco and the danger inherent in some unsafe exits by the Getafense goalkeeper Soria was all the offensive baggage of the rojiblancos at halftime, too poor for the leader of La Liga.

Insufficient reaction

Faced with the need, Simeone anticipated the foreseeable change at halftime: the entry of a Joao Felix that he was a substitute again, in the position of a Saúl who is still far from his best level. The Portuguese played very far from the rival area (although every time he appeared it was dangerous) and the team did not improve its definition in the rival area, so Simeone made a triple change with an offensive vocation.

Meanwhile, Getafe had taken over the monopoly of arrivals around game time, but the goalless draw seemed unshakable.

The Nyom expulsionAfter the VAR review and more than 20 minutes to go, he did not unleash the attack in an athletic rush that could be expected, although Soria had to appear with a great save to avoid Dembélé’s goal.

In the last ten minutes came, at last, a good sequence of athletic occasions, including a shot to the stick of Suárez and two very dangerous shots from Dembélé, but the match was diluted between the obfuscation of athletic impotence and the constant stops caused by a Getafe satisfied with a point against the leader.
