An interesting fact that comes out of today’s program Interview with Liz cheney, the vice president of the House special committee investigating the January 6 attack about him United States Capitol, is that she said she is looking forward to the former vice president Mike pence cooperate with the committee, as well as continuous the cooperation the committee has had with the Pence team.
“Former Vice President Pence was a hero on January 6,” Cheney said. “He rejected the pressure of the former president, he did his duty and the nation should be very grateful for the actions he took that day. We look forward to continuing the cooperation we have had from members of the former vice president’s team and we look forward to their cooperation. ”
As a former vice president, Pence was serving as president of the senate a year ago when the insurgents stormed the Capitol. I had not been willing to accept Donald trump and his plan to command Pence’s largely ceremonial role in the joint session of Congress for the certification of the outcome of Joe’s 2020 presidential election Bidenvictory.
That day, Trump supporters chanted, “Hang up Mike Pence!” and Pence was evacuated along with other high-ranking members of Congress. But later, Pence has gone to great lengths not to speak out about the attack, or speak ill of Trump at all, staying consistent along party lines.

Here are more than Liz cheney, the vice president of the House special committee investigating the January 6 attack about him United States Capitol, who was in today’s program this morning.
She told Savannah Guthrie that our institutions “only stood up because of people who were willing to resist pressure from former President Trump, people on their own. Justice Department… state-level elected officials who stood up to him and law enforcement here on Capitol Hill. “
“We came very close and we must recognize how important it is that the system is dependent on people and that it never happens again,” Cheney said.
Guthrie asked Cheney if he thought our democracy was still in a fragile state. Cheney responded, “The threat continues.”
“Donald trump continues to make the same claims that he knows caused violence on January 6 and it is very important, if you look at what is happening in my own party, the Republican party, instead of rejecting what happened on the 6th, reject the lie about the choice and make it clear that a president who participated in those activities will never be able to be president again; unfortunately, many in my own party are embracing the former president, looking the other way and refusing to minimize the danger, “Cheney said. “This is how democracies die and we simply cannot allow that to happen.”
