Following recent updates on the case of the disappearance of Gabby Petito, a person had reported a “domestic dispute” between Brian Laundrie and his fiancée in Moab, Utah, on August 12, days before the girl’s disappearance was reported.
In statements collected by Fox News This Monday, an audio of a call to 911 was published that could give a clue about an alleged assault by Laundrie, which could contradict the version of the agents in which they affirmed that Petito he had not suffered from physical assault.
“Was he slapping her? ” The voice of a dispatcher was heard. “Yes, and then we stopped. They ran up and down the sidewalk. He proceeded to beat her, got in the car and they left “, indicated the person who made the call.
This audio can provide an alternative clue about the events surrounding the disappearance and the couple’s encounter with the police while they were having an argument, which was evidenced in a video.
“The driver of the truck, a man, had some kind of argument with the woman, Gabbie.”wrote an officer who responded in a police report, citing conversations he had with Petito, Laundrie and the witness.
The report indicates that the subject tried to maintain a distance by telling Gabbie to go for a walk to calm down, but she did not want to separate from him and began slapping him.
An officer had initially responded by writing that he believed that “It was reported that the man had been observed to have attacked the woman”, but then pointed out that “No one reported that the man had hit her.”
Meanwhile, one of the officers indicated that he stopped the truck and reported that when it approached, Petito was “crying uncontrollably” in the passenger seat.
Another officer expressed that this incident could be categorized more as a “Mental / emotional breakdown” that as a domestic assault, and noted that no significant injuries were reported.
During an FBI intervention last Sunday, Agent Charlie Jones informed the media that a person found in the Grand Teton National ParkIn Wyoming, a body was found matching Gabby Petito’s description; however, DNA tests have yet to be done to confirm exactly if it is her.
Among the reactions to Petito’s apparent death, Laundrie’s parents, through the young woman’s boyfriend’s lawyer, indicated that it was “piercing” everything that has happened after the fatal trip.
