Australia v India: Test 3, Day Three – Live! | Sport

Get in touch

The Sydney test, day three, game three, and there is still everything to play for. The Australians came out on the second day with a moderate score of 338, but it will take a lot of work if the Indians match. They scored 96 runs in 45 overs, just 2 per over, against some extremely good pins. Nathan Lyon looked dangerous at all times, Pat Cummins looked dangerous as well, and the field looks pretty tough to score. A little misbehavior, with some balls jumping or crawling, but mostly slow and difficult to time shots. So 338 for India is a long way off.

Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane form the pair to resume, the two most trusted and veteran players from India. They will have to do a lot of the groundwork.

Australia will be very encouraged by Steve Smith’s return to racing after his century on the second day. India will be happy after another influential performance from Ravindra Jadeja, who was sensational with four wickets and the final thrill of a ridiculous race to end Smith’s day and Australia innings.

The deficit is 242, eight plots in hand, and the probability of forecast rain has been reduced to 20%. Here’s the hope. We must?
