British MP David Amess dies after being stabbed in southeastern England

David Amess, a member of the British Parliament, died on Friday after being stabbed during a ceremony in Essex, in the south-east of the United Kingdom.

A 68-year-old Conservative Party deputy, he was meeting with constituents from his constituency at Belfairs Methodist Church.

Essex police went to the scene after reporting the stabbing, which was recorded in the town of Leigh-on-Sea at 12:05 a.m. local time.

The main suspect has been arrested and the police stated that no one else is wanted in connection with the incident.
