This morning, with the representation of a group of athletes and national teams from Portugal, Mexico and Spain, the fifth stop of the Formula Kite Spain Series 2022 was presented by the Mayor and the Sports Councilor of Castelló, which in turn time it will be the Spanish Cup of this Olympic class.

As in previous editions, the Club Deportivo Eolo Castellón will act as host of the event with its strategic facilities on the Gurugú beach, with the technical collaboration of the Real Club Nautico de Castellón.
The mayor of Castelló, Amparo Marco, has stressed that the beaches of Castelló are hosting this sporting event for the fifth time. “An already traditional appointment that turns the Gurugú beach into an international focus of this specialty of nautical sport”, has pointed.
Marco has also stressed that the Formula Kite Spain Series 2022 “will once again value the local maritime environment and the beaches of Castelló”. “From the City Council we believe in the potential of sporting events that value our landscape environment and that are an opportunity for the revitalization of local tourism”, has highlighted.

Likewise, the director of the Formula Kite Spain Series, Sergio W. Smit, commented after the presentation “For the organization, returning to Castellón year after year is a guarantee. We know that this stop, already the only one in the Valencian Community, is highly appreciated by sailors. This year, the fact that it is the longest stop on the circuit has brought with it that Castellón will also host the Spanish Formula Kite Cup, making the event in Castellón even more important, if possible. The fact that this is the fifth time that we are in Castellón is the consequence of the excellent teamwork between the town hall, its mayor, the sports department and local clubs.”
