College Basketball Recruitment News: # 1 sophomore Naasir Cunningham draws interest from UCLA, Michigan, LSU, and others

As the summer began, Naasir Cunningham did not set out to be considered the best player in the 2024 class.

Sure, he knew that the more reputable national ranking services start classifying players as sophomores, but Cunningham’s approach was more streamlined.

“I just wanted to get better,” Cunningham said. “I know what I’m capable of on the court because I work so hard, so I just wanted to get better every game. That’s what I focused on. ”

The tunnel vision approach translated into a productive summer averaging 15 points and nine rebounds per game while racing for the NY Rens in Nike EYBL.
