College football screenings for week 12: Georgia and Alabama rematch scenario back on track

The college football playoff race has entered the home stretch with only three weeks left for the pairs to be revealed.

Oklahoma’s loss to Baylor has opened up a debate about how the CFP could move forward. In the latest Sporting News bowling screenings, we have Alabama back in the four-team playoffs and in an Alabama-Georgia national championship game in Indianapolis.

That requires wins for Alabama against Arkansas, Auburn and Georgia in the SEC championship game. If Alabama does that and Oregon loses one to Utah, Oregon State, and the Pac-12 championship game, then the picture will clear up. Those two scenarios are a bummer, but for now we’ll say that Crimson Tide wins and Oregon loses one of its last three games. It would also open the door for Cincinnati to make the playoffs.
