Ignacio López del Hierro, husband of the former secretary general of the PP Maria Dolores de Cospedal, and the businessman Luis Galvez, to which Luis Barcenas linked with a donation of 60,000 euros For the former Madrid president Esperanza Aguirre, they appear as witnesses in the trial on box b of the PP, which will resume this Monday.

So will journalists who supposedly would have known an alleged recording of the former treasury of the PP Alvaro Lapuerta, who died in 2018, in which he would recognize the payment of bonuses to party leaders. Some testimonies that were claimed at the beginning of the trial by the defense of his successor in office, Luis Bárcenas.

Cospedal’s husband, a former Metrovacesa director, has been cited for appearing as a donor in the so-called Bárcenas papers that would reflect that supposed B-box of the PP, although they would be regular donations because they had been produced with the Party Financing Law in force until 2007.

López del Hierro has appeared in other cases that affect the PP, such as the Kitchen case, in which there are recordings of his and his wife’s conversations with former commissioner José Villarejo.

He is also related to another defendant in that case, the commissioner Andrés Gómez Gordo, an advisor to Cospedal when she was president of Castilla La Mancha and whom Bárcenas links to the theft of the recording that he claims he made to the former president of the Government Mariano Rajoy, destroying the last sheets of the papers in box b in a paper shredder.

Regarding the testimony of Gálvez, owner of the Ploder company and linked to an alleged donation to the PP of 50,000 euros on February 22, 2008, which he denied in instruction, it will occur after the judge in the Púnica case decided to lift the accusation. in that case, agreed as a result of Bárcenas involving him in a delivery to Aguirre when he testified as a witness.

After sending a letter to Anticorrupción shortly before the beginning of this trial offering to collaborate in all the causes that affect the PP, Bárcenas was called to testify in Púnica.

He revealed that Gálvez gave Lapuerta 60,000 euros for Esperanza Aguirre in 2007 or 2008, and that he and his superior gave it to her in the presence of former counselor Francisco Granados, which led both to take action against Bárcenas for false testimony.

Journalists Francisco Mercado, Eduardo Inda, Ernesto Ekaizer and Marisa Gallero have been summoned to expose the content of the evidence they collected for the preparation of information on box b in their respective media.

At first, the testimony of the leader of Gürtel was also scheduled for next Monday Francisco Correa, but the accusations that requested his statement finally renounced it after Correa demanded that this summons be suspended, considering it incompatible with his status as a defendant in the separate piece of the so-called “Bárcenas papers” that continues to be investigated.
