The following deaths have occurred in the wider Leitrim area:

Michael (Teddy) Shivnan, Kilmacud, Dublin / Ballyfarnon, Co Roscommon

The death has occurred of Michael Shivnan (Teddy), Lower Kilmacud Road, Stillorgan, Co. Dublin, formerly Ballyfarnon, Co. Roscommon, on Saturday, February 12th 2022, peacefully, following a brief illness, in the tender care of the doctors, nurses and staff of I.C.U. St. James’s Hospital, Dublin and surrounded by his devoted wife and family. Pre-deceased by his parents Tom and Bea and brother James. Michael will be sadly missed by his heartbroken wife Mary (née Herward) daughters Niamh and her husband Chris, and Doireann, sons Donal and his wife Nuala, Eamonn and his partner Lisa, brother Tommie, sisters Kathleen, Bridie, Betty, Evelyn and Mary, his adored grandchildren Dara, Lily, Luke, Elise and Scott, brothers- in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, former work colleagues, neighbours and his many friends. May his gentle soul Rest in Peace.
Reposing at his home on Monday evening (February 14th) from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Removal to St. Laurence O’ Toole Church, Lower Kilmacud Road, Stillorgan, Co. Dublin A94 CY83 on Tuesday morning (February 15th) arriving for Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment afterwards in Shanganagh Cemetery. Seamus McWeeney, Ballinamore, Co Leitrim

The death has occurred of Seamus McWeeney, Miskawn, Ballinamore, Co Leitrim on Thursday, 10th February, 2022. Predeceased by his parents Brigid & Joseph and baby brother Andrew. Deeply regretted by his heartbroken wife, Margaret (née Connolly), and his children Gavin, Barry, Orla (Knock) and Seán and their partners Sinéad, Mary, Tommy and Ciara. Adored by his grandchildren Cillian, Ryan, Dylan, Kate, Éabha, Áine, Daniel and Tomás. Cherished by his family Dessie (New York), Kevin (Dunboyne), John (London), Joseph (Ardee), Gabriel (Dublin) and Patricia (New York). He will be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters-in law, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends. Rest in Peace.
Reposing at his home on Saturday, 12th February from 4pm to 8pm and Sunday 13th from 2pm to 6pm. Note there will be a one way system in place coming from Drumbibe. Please follow stewards instruction. House strictly private at all other times. Funeral Mass at 12 noon on Monday in St Mary’s Church, Aughnasheelin N41 HR04. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Annie Flanagan, Ballinamore, Co Leitrim

The death has occurred of Annie Flanagan (née McNamee), Trathnóna, Ballinamore, Co Leitrim, formerly Clonboyher, Newtowngore, Co Leitrim, in the wonderful care of the staff at Ballinamore Nursing Unit on Friday, 11th February, 2022. Predeceased by her husband James. She will be sadly missed by her daughters Mary Foley (Mohill), Teresa Tierney (Ballyconnell) & Roseann Christy (Ballinamore), her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother Kevin McNamee, sister Bridget Crossan, extended family, relatives & friends. Rest in Peace.

Pádraig Flanagan, Ballinamore, Co Leitrim

The death has occurred of Pádraig Flanagan, Church St., Ballinamore, Co Leitrim, formerly Lisacarn, Ballinamore, Co Leitrim, peacefully at his home, following an illness borne with great courage and dignity, on  Thursday, 10th February, 2022. Beloved husband and best friend of Margaret and dear father to Linda (McManus), Sheila (Lynch), Angela (Wynne) and brother to Mairead. Sadly missed by his heartbroken family, sons-in-law Matthew, Brendan and Gary, his grandchildren Anna, Natalie, Diarmuid, April, Cian and Ella, his extended family, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, neighbours and many friends. Marian McCaffrey, Gorvagh, Co Leitrim 

The death has occurred of Marian McCaffrey (née Cleary), Adoon, Gorvagh, Co Leitrim and formerly of Clonfinane, Carrig, Co Tipperary, on Thursday, 10th February, 2022, peacefully at the North West Hospice, Sligo surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents Michael and Eileen Cleary. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving husband Jim, sons Denis, Eoin, Seamus, Anthony and Robert, adored granddaughter Fiadh, Denis’ partner Shanagh, Eoin’s partner Angela and Seamus’ partner Jennifer; her brothers Micheal (Australia), John (Australia) Pat (Tipperary) and Tim (Gort) sisters Ev (UK), Mona (UK), Kathleen (Tullamore) and Anne (Galway), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.
