Eagles Mock Draft 2022: Philadelphia Pick List, 2022 NFL Draft Projections

The 2021 season has been something special for Philadelphia.

It has been a year of surprises for the Eagles. First-year head coach Nick Sirianni has pushed a lot of the right buttons in 2021, making the most of second-year QB Jalen Hurts as Philly emerged from the NFC East as a wild-card holder.

Regardless of how Philadelphia plays during Super Wild Card weekend and the rest of the 2022 NFL playoffs, the Eagles are poised for a massive and formative offseason that could determine the direction of the organization for the next five years or so. plus.

(No pressure, guys.)

Starting with free agency, the Eagles will have a chance to reshape their roster, but most of the work to be done will happen in the draft. This is how it could take shape:

Eagles 2022 mock draft

The Eagles are currently loaded with three first-round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft. The first pair of Philadelphia’s three picks are already locked in at No. 15 and No. 16. The last pick, their own pick from first round,

Here’s where SN’s Vinnie Iyer thinks the Eagles will go with their first-round picks this year, with his rationale from SN’s latest mock draft:

  • No. 15. Philadelphia Eagles (from Miami Dolphins) – DeMarvin Leal, DT, Texas A&M (6-4, 290 pounds)

Leal is a versatile disruptor who can thrive lining up inside and out in Jonathan Gannon’s four-man front given that tackle Fletcher Cox is fading with age and Derek Barnett is a free agent. Leal has shown his inside pass-rushing skills with 8.5 sacks, but he’s also a burly run-blocker. You’ll need to answer questions about your recent minor marijuana possession arrest, but in the end, it shouldn’t affect your actions as much since it no longer carries the same stigma for a prospect that it once did.

  • 16. Philadelphia Eagles (from Indianapolis Colts) – David Ojabo, EDGE, Michigan (6-5, 250 pounds)

The Eagles, beyond Barnett’s pending free agency at defensive end, also know that Josh Sweat was filling in for Brandon Graham, who is entering his 34-year-old season after a ruptured Achilles tendon. They need reinforcements for the force that sets the tone for their defense. Ojabo would give them a flashy quirky edge player who can contribute well situationally early on. His speed, explosiveness and energy added to his big rise behind his late partner Hutchinson.

  • 19. Philadelphia Eagles (9-8) — Andrew Booth Jr., CB, Clemson (6-0, 200 pounds)

The Eagles are getting a good late-career game from Darius “Big Play” Slay and Avonte Maddox has also been good, but they could use an extra boost in Booth’s secondary. He is a strong and active cornerback who has the speed and ball skills to become a worthy successor to Slay as his main cover man.
