A report from the Crime, Economic and Fiscal Unit (UDEF) of the National Police identifies the spokesperson for Podemos in Congress, Pablo Echenique, as proxy for one of the accounts from which the party paid the Neurona company, hired for the April 2019 elections.

The police report, advanced by ABC and to which Efe has had access, is dated last November 3 and details five accounts from which Podemos entered money to Neurona. In one of them Echenique appears as attorney-in-fact.

The Court of Instruction number 42 of Madrid asked the Police for the report within the case in which the management of Podemos is being investigated, which focuses on possible irregularities in the payments made by Podemos to the Neurona company.

The Podemos spokesperson in Congress is listed as the proxy for a Triodos Bank account whose owner is Podemos, the proxy holders are Pablo Echenique, Carolina Alonso Alonso and Daniel de Frutos Ramírez, and from which a transfer was made to Neurona Comunidad on January 28, 2020 for a value of 2,420 euros, ordered by Carolina Alonso.

The other four accounts are from Caixa Credit Enginyers. In one of them, the head is the United We Can Electoral Coalition and its attorneys Daniel de Frutos Ramírez and Carlos García Ramos -general administrators for the April 2019 elections-, and since then three transfers were made for a total value of 363,000 euros to Neuron Community.

March 9, 2019 100,000 euros were transferred, on March 23, 2019 another 100,000 and on March 9 of that year 163,000.

Another account of that same bank, currently canceled, has as holders United We Can Left Madrid Unit on Foot, as proxies Jorge Antonio del Rey Moreno and Miguel Montero Fernández, and from it a transfer of 38,720 euros was made to Neurona on the 21 May 2019.

The third party has Podemos as its owner, Daniel de Frutos and Denis Thomas Maguire as proxies, and from there the party made two transfers to Neurona for a total of 17,303 euros on October 9, 2019 and December 18, 2019.

The fourth Caixa Credit Enginyers account is held by Unidas Podemos, we empowered Daniel de Frutos and Carlos García Ramos and served to transfer 4,000 euros to Neurona on November 20, 2019.

The UDEF also informs the judge about the location and structure of the Creative Advice Interactive mercantile, on which the Prosecutor’s Office determined that it had received in dates close to the elections of April 28, 2019, credits worth 308,257 euros “when the transfers of the coalition are manifestly superior “.

The judge investigating the management of Podemos considers that “there are rational indications” that the payments made by Podemos to the company Neurona “They were not intended to pay for any service provided by said company on the occasion of the general elections of April 28, 2019, and qualifiable as electoral expense “.

Therefore, it considers that this “diversion of money” can be an electoral crime typified in article 150 of the Organic Law of the General Electoral System, in the case of a special crime that can only be committed by general administrators and candidates.

For this reason, he plans to take a statement this Friday from Carlos García Ramos, general administrator of the United We Can coalition for the 2019 elections.

For November 20, the declaration as investigated by the Secretary of Communication of Podemos, Juanma del Olmo, the party’s head of Finance, Daniel de Frutos, and the manager, Rocío Val, is scheduled.

These three charges of Podemos were charged by the judge after the statement in July of the former lawyer of the formation José Manuel Calvente in which it was ratified in his complaint against Podemos for the crimes of illegal financing, money laundering, unfair administration and disclosure of secrets.
