Elche asks the ministry for help to develop an improvement plan for the Palmeral irrigation network

Díez recalled that it is a line of aid from the Ministry of Culture that was summoned last year and that allowed the City Council to partially renew the Route of the Palm Grove.

“Our intention is to continue advancing in the improvement and conservation of the Historic Palm Grove and therefore, on this occasion, we request help for the preparation of a Master Plan for the management and use of the arterial irrigation network of the Palmeral de Elche ”, Hector Díez pointed out, who pointed out that“ the traditional irrigation network and, within it, the Acequia Mayor, are part of the declaration of World Heritage Site ”.

The spokesperson, who is also the mayor of Palmeral, has explained that partial repairs are usually carried out on this network of irrigation. “What we intend with the master plan is to establish a comprehensive work tool that gives an overview of the irrigation network and that allows us to order conservation actions and the correct management of the irrigation network.”

The total cost of the project being presented is 49,000 euros and the City Council expects to receive a subsidy from the ministry worth 37,000 euros. Díez explains that the Government Team trusts that, as happened in the last convocation, the Ministry of Culture grant the Elche the help requested.

Héctor Díez has announced that the Board of government has agreed to tender for the improvement and adaptation of the semi-covered track of the El Toscar Sports Center. “It is a track that is partially covered and with this project, which involves an investment of almost 137,000 euros, it is intended to provide the enclosure with a translucent mesh that facilitates and improves sports practice avoiding bad weather in winter.”

It is a project included in the funds Edusi and the execution period is four months.

The Local Government Board has also proceeded to start the auction of municipal assets through the area of Hiring. It is about proceeding with the auction of six residential plots, three industrial plots and 58 parking spaces. The starting price of the land amounts to 1.7 million euros and that of the parking spaces of 195,000 euros.

The deadline for submitting bids will be 30 calendar days from the date the document is posted on the Contractor’s profile. town hall.

The plots for residential use are located in the districts of La Baia, in Vallverda, in Torrellano and a plot in the neighborhood of Carrus East. The lots for industrial or tertiary use are in sector E-41, E-23 and in the Polígono de Carrús. The parking spaces are distributed throughout the municipality of Elche.

“With this great auction what we intend is to dispose of all these patrimonial assets of the town hall and that this allows entry to make new investments ”, explained the councilor.

Díez recalled that the City Council continues to work on the auction of the site for tertiary use in Arenales. A site that is owned by the City Council of Elche and the Generalitat Valenciana and that, in this case, will be auctioned in the coming weeks with an exclusive procedure as the regional administration is involved. The objective is to facilitate the implementation in the area of ​​a commercial area.
