Extregusta will offer this weekend more than a hundred tapas on the Paseo de Cánovas

The tapas fair of the city of Cáceres, Extregusta, which celebrates its fifteenth edition from October 7 to 9, will offer this year more than a hundred tapas on the Paseo de Cánovas in the capital of Cáceres.

This edition will feature novelties compared to previous years, such as a cooking show by chef Javier Martín, which will take place on Friday at 12:45 p.m., and a concert on Saturday by the Soversion group inside the Paseo.

The appointment also brings back Pequechef Extregusta, an activity aimed at children in which a group of 40 children will participate. To register, those interested will have to go to the ticket sales point where the application will be provided until the capacity is reached. “It is something that we had to recover because it was one of the most successful things and that we have seen in past editions,” said the Councilor for Commerce, María Ángeles Costa, at the presentation press conference.

The inauguration will be on Friday at 12:00 noon and the fair hours are from 12:30 to 18:30 in the afternoon. The organization hopes to exceed the 90,000 tickets that were sold in the last edition.

The event will feature 19 exhibitors, including three producing companies, such as Quesos Casto, Cordero Fuentes del Sapillo and Iberjabugo. In addition, two bars of the main sponsor will be set up, located in front of the statue of Gabriel and Galán. The official sponsor will also have a ‘box bar’, where those people will be able to taste the references of the brand.

Ticket price

Tickets cost 1.50 euros and can be purchased at the two available sales points. As a novelty there will be central POS points that will allow attendees to acquire them in an easier way.

As in previous editions, the fair will host an awards ceremony by the professional jury that will take place on Saturday 8 at 6:30 p.m. The XIII Cauldron of Honor Award will be announced; the Caldero Artesano, which will award the Best Tapa Extregusta 2022; and a third Popular Jury prize that will be raffled with all the valid votes deposited in the ballot box enabled at the main ticket sales point, a tasting menu at the restaurant that won the award for Best Tapa Extregusta 2022.

The event was presented this Wednesday at the Town Hall, in an act in which, in addition to Costa, the regional sales manager of the Mahou-San Miguel group, Carlos Morato, and representatives of Caja Almendralejo, both sponsoring entities of the event, took part , which is organized by the Cáceres Trade Fair Institution (IFECA).

“It is a fair that allows us to boost the hotel and restaurant industry at a local, provincial and regional level, spread the benefits of Extremaduran gastronomic products and encourage collaboration and the establishment of commercial relations between the companies that participate”, he stressed.
