Fantasy Injury Updates: Latest News on Antonio Gibson, D’Andre Swift, Damien Harris, More Decisions Affecting Week 16 – Get Started and Sit Down

With a seemingly endless parade of idle key RBs while on the reserve / COVID roster (Dalvin Cook, Austin Ekeler, Rhamondre Stevenson), injuries almost seem like an afterthought, but with fantasy championship spots on the line, each “Questionable” player carries extra meaning. There are still several top RBs, including Antonio Gibson, D’Andre Swift, Damien Harris and David Johnson, who are playing time decisions and will require waiting for final injury reports. Hopefully we’ll have the latest updates below throughout the day on Sunday so you can feel confident with your starting and seating decisions.

Will Antonio Gibson play Sunday night?

Gibson (toe) I did not practice all weekBut that could be partly because Washington played on Tuesday of last week. Either way, his availability for the Sunday night tilt in Dallas is in question.

Even if Gibson plays, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he saw fewer touches than usual. He always has a decent ceiling due to his great playing ability, but with a lower floor than usual, it will be difficult to wait even if you have wives for Jaret Patterson and Jonathan Williams. Ultimately, given the concerns about neutral pairing and usage, you’re better off playing it safe with someone other than Gibson, but if you feel the need to wait for it, make sure you have Patterson or Williams who will likely split the touches. at Gibson. absence.

Does D’Andre Swift play Week 16?

Maybe in a little surprise, Swift (shoulder) was limited in practice all week and it’s “questionable” for Sunday’s game against the Falcons. It was Swift’s first action of any kind since she injured her shoulder on Thanksgiving.

If Swift plays, he will simply split time with Jamaal Williams, who will return after a two-game absence while on the reserve / COVID roster. Craig Reynolds will likely mix in too, but the Lions wouldn’t activate Swift just to give him five touches. In a very favorable matchup, Swift would be at least an RB2 in the PPR leagues and flex in the standard leagues. Williams would be pretty much the same, hitting a solid RB2 in both formats if Swift is out.

Will Damien Harris play Week 16?

Harris (hamstring) was limited in practice all weekbut it seems like he tends to play after missing a week. It’s always hard to tell with the Patriots, but in a monstrous divisional game against Buffalo and with Rhamondre Stevenson (reserve / COVID) already ruled out, Harris would play a much-needed role.

If he’s active, Harris is an easy “start”. Buffalo’s running defense has been struggling down the stretch, and we know New England isn’t afraid to lean on their backs. Harris could easily see 20 touches on this one, making it a borderline RB1 on standard RB2 and solid on PPR. If he’s out, Brandon Bolden (knee) would see most of the carries with JJ Taylor also mixing in. Bolden would be a decent RB2 in PPR and flex in standard.

Is David Johnson playing Week 16?

Johnson (quadruple) I did not practice this week, so it’s a bit surprising that he’s even listed as “questionable” for Sunday’s game against the Chargers.

It seems likely Johnson will come out, opening the door to more than 15 knocks for Rex Burkhead. While that may not sound exciting, it could generate a decent amount of production against the Chargers defense, allowing for the second-most fantasy points for the RBs. Royce Freeman would get touches too, but Burkhead is the only one worth trying as RB2.
