WEEK 15: Collection of exemptions

Darren Waller injury update

Waller (knee, back) was considered day-to-day last week and missed the game against the Chiefs, but it seems that this could be the sweet spot for his return. It’s worth noting that the Raiders are playing Saturday, so you’ll know Waller’s status in plenty of time for him to enter or leave his lineup.

Waller is ready to face Cleveland, which is a top-10 matchup for TEs, so we’re relying on him at the TE2 spot in PPR and the standard leagues. If he can’t play, it seems like we can’t trust Foster Moreau anymore.

Keenan Allen COVID update

Allen has been on the reserve / COVID list since early last week and missed Week 14 against the Giants, but should have enough time to clear the protocols for Thursday night against the Chiefs. Of course, there’s a scenario where it doesn’t, but we’re optimistic since Chargers coach Brandon Staley he said wait for me to play.

Kansas City has given up the ninth fewest fantasy points to WR, but that doesn’t worry us with someone as consistent as Allen. We classify it as WR10 in PPR and WR12 in standard leagues.

WEEK 15 PPR RANKINGS:
Field marshal | Running backwards | Wide receiver | Tight end | D / ST | Kicker

TJ Hockenson injury update

Hockenson (hand) was listed as “doubtful” before finally being ruled against the Broncos, but Dan Campbell said is hopeful that Hockenson can play against Arizona. Of course, that may not mean much, but Campbell has generally been pretty spot on when it comes to his players’ perspective.

We classify Hockenson as TE13 in standard leagues and TE9 in PPR. The overwhelming showdown with Arizona brings him down a bit, but he should secure enough passes to be a solid option in PPR. We are not interested in any other Lions TE if you can’t play.

Update on Adam Thielen’s injury

Thielen is dealing with a sprained ankle, putting his availability in jeopardy for the second week in a row. It will have an extra day since the game is Monday night, but that could leave Fantasy owners with an even tougher decision. If you have KJ Osborn, it’s a simple change, but if you don’t, you can choose to play someone else in WR’s place if the latest news doesn’t seem bullish. Stay tuned for this situation.

For now, we don’t have Thielen in our rankings, but he’s a must-start if he can play a last-six unit against fantasy WR. If you’re out, see Osborn as a flexible piece on the upside.

Tyler Higbee COVID update

Higbee (reserve / COVID) was a late scratch for Monday night’s game, but there is optimism that he will be cleared in time for a favorable showdown with Seattle.

Since Seattle is in the top four for the TEs, we like Higbee as the TE15 in the standard and PPR leagues.
