Fantasy Injury Updates: Latest news on WRs Brandon Aiyuk, Marquise Brown, Will Fuller ahead of Week 2, get started, feel it.

Wide receivers Brandon Aiyuk, Marquise Brown and Will Fuller are all in the latest news cycle heading into Week 2. We don’t have much clarity on Aiyuk and Brown, but we’re still forced to make decisions as fantasy football owners. Follow the latest news on these guys as we get closer to Sunday. For now, Aiyuk has a cloudy role in the 49ers passing game, Marquise Brown is dealing with a minor ailment and Will Fuller missed practice Thursday (although it was not related to injury). We’ll dive into more detail, what that means for each player and how Week 2 rankings and start and sit decisions could be affected given their statuses.

WEEK 2 PPR RANKINGS:

Brandon Aiyuk injury update

Aiyuk (hamstring) was on and off the injury report prior to his Week 1 game in Detroit, but injuries weren’t the (main) reason he laid a chicken egg in fantasy. He’s not on the injury report right now and he’s practicing in full before Week 2 (@ Eagles). However, it remains to be seen whether his role will be different from last week. 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan basically just said Aiyuk needs to be better to gain more reps, which sounds like a coach term for “practice harder.” Who knows? It’s still concerning, as Aiyuk was expected to have a standout season as the No. 1 WR in San Francisco (and was selected as such).

Due to the uncertainty of his situation, we cannot rate him higher than WR56 in PPR and standard for Week 2. It is safe to keep him on the bench for now, but if you are in a deep league, he should start over. the guys ranked below him. It will still be a gamble, but Aiyuk has the talent for a great game even with a few taps. Trent Sherfield has done some of Aiyuk’s reruns, so naturally he’s the next man in line, but fantasy owners shouldn’t worry about him.

WEEK 2 STANDARD RATINGS:
Field marshal | Running backwards | Wide receiver | Tight End | D / ST | Kicker

Marquise Brown injury update

Brown (ankle) was absent from practice on Thursday, and as we get closer to Sunday, this could become more worrisome. On Friday he will tell us more about his outlook, but for now, we will not adjust it in our ranking. He had a good showing in Week 1 (@ Las Vegas) with six catches for 69 yards and a touchdown and seems to be gaining traction in fantasy, so hopefully the ankle problem won’t slow him down or slow down his advance. . It’s probably just a precaution after the Raiders played Monday night.

Brown is our WR39 in the standard and PPR leagues. In an upcoming game with Kansas City, he is being considered for a WR3 or flexible position in what should be a high-scoring affair. If the game is lost, Sammy Watkins gets more attractive, but behind that, you don’t want any part of the other Ravens’ WRs.

WEEK 2 FANTASY: Sleepers | Busts | Get started, feel them

Will Fuller play week 2?

Fuller was not seen in practice on Thursday, but the reason for his absence was not related to injuries. He reportedly walked away to deal with a personal matter and will play in Week 2 (@ Buffalo). We don’t have a sample from Week 1 to continue after it was suspended for the season opener (@ New England) by PED, but we do think it will be a boom-bust candidate just like it was in Houston. However, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t play with it.

It’s hard to know where Fuller will fall in the Dolphins’ hierarchy of goals, as Jaylen Waddle looked good in Week 1 and DeVante Parker has established himself as a solid possession receiver. Mike Gesicki is also destined to improve after his zero catches performance. Fuller is in the start-sit bubble, and it might depend on whether he thinks he needs a high ceiling or a high floor.

Since this is your first game action, we are maintaining that review until further notice. For week 2, it is our WR40 in standard and WR 44 in PPR.
