Fantasy QB Rankings Week 13: Who to start, sit as a quarterback in fantasy football

Hopefully, he enjoyed a “W” to end his Thanksgiving weekend, but it’s time to get back to work and find out who to start at quarterback as we get closer to the fantasy football playoffs. Our Week 13 fantasy quarterback rankings see a trio of rookie quarterbacks in tough spots, but outside of those guys, we’re relatively deep with broadcast considerations. Still, they should all survive the four-team break this week.

The goodbye guys are Aaron Rodgers, Ryan Tannehill, Baker Mayfield and Cam Newton. Rodgers will surely be missed by many, but again, we believe there are enough favorable matchups on the board to get through the week. We also got Patrick Mahomes and Kyler Murray back (hopefully) bye bye, so that helps too.

WEEK 13 PPR RANKINGS:
Running backwards | Wide receiver | Tight end | D / ST | Kicker

Josh Allen (vs. Patriots), Justin Herbert (@ Bengals), and Joe Burrow (vs. Chargers) face tough matchups on paper, but since they can all explode for 40 points in any given week, you can’t really sit them down unless you have a few others. high potential options.

WEEK 13 STANDARD RATINGS:
Running backwards | Wide receiver | Tight end | D / ST | Kicker

For those looking for streamers, Daniel Jones (vs. Dolphins), Tua Tagovaolia (vs. Giants), Teddy Bridgewater (@ Chiefs), and Matt Ryan (vs. Buccaneers) are the guys you want to target. Jones, Tua and Bridgewater have been mentioned in almost every QB ranking article we’ve written as they rely almost entirely on matchmaking. This week, everyone faces weak defenses against fantasy quarterbacks, so it’s time to start over. Matt Ryan fell under 50 percent ownership for the first time this season, and it’s a boom or bust play in Week 13. Tampa Bay’s defense has improved, but Ryan can do it with volume at least. His bankruptcy risk comes from the Falcons’ inability to hold him upright.

You can also try Tyrod Taylor (against Colts) or Taylor Heinicke (@ Raiders). Taylor draws a bottom 10 defense against fantasy quarterbacks, but we know the Texans offense is starved for talent, so it’s not without its risks. Heinicke is quietly on the verge of a QB1 for reason, so while the Raiders are not the best matchup, he has played well enough to merit consideration unless the matchup is downright horrible. Jimmy Garoppolo (@ Seattle) is also a good option, but has a low floor given the lack of trouble and the potential of a play script with many runs.

Rookies Justin Fields (vs. Cardinals) and Mac Jones (@ Bills) face the top three defenses against fantasy QBs before Week 12, so we’re not suggesting he play them. Both have shown flashes, but are risky even in superflex / two-QB leagues. Trevor Lawrence (@ Rams) faces a middle defense, but do you trust him against Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey? They were not. Zach Wilson (vs. Eagles) actually has the best matchup of all rookies, but that’s not a risk we’re willing to take either.

Still, the “veteran” quarterbacks in the start or sit bubble have the best matchups, so that should mean the position as a whole is poised for solid production. He might consider sitting down someone like Herbert or even Russell Wilson (against the 49ers), but for the most part, even those guys should produce at reasonably solid levels.

Note: We’ll update these quarterback rankings throughout the week, so check back for the latest player moves and analysis.
