Fantasy Week 15’s Best Waiver Pickups: Rashaad Penny, Taysom Hill Look Like ‘Must-Have Add-Ons’ Before Fantasy Playoffs

Usually the Top Week 15 Fantasy Waiver Transfer Pickups & Free Agent Additions as a result of major injuries, but in 2021, there is a legitimate RB running away at the end of the season. It’s been a long way to get to this point Rashaad Penny And injuries, both his own and those of others, certainly played a role, but after his best pro game, he will be highly sought after in waivers when the fantasy football playoffs begin. The same is true for Taysom hill, offering the kind of high-floor advantage that comes in handy during these must-have weeks.

Our full list of free agents does not have many “must have” pickups, although Austin Ekeler replacements Justin jackson Y Joshua Kelley it certainly qualifies. We also have some unexciting but potentially key RBs (Royce freeman, Justin jackson, Joshua Kelley, Perine LaMical, Ty johnson, Craig reynolds) and some WR3 candidates like Gabriel Davis, KJ Osborn, Russell gage, Robby Anderson, Jamison crowder, Y Laquon Treadwell. However, the week 15 streamer tips on QB, WR, TE and D / ST are likely to be much more available. Even with all the equipment at our disposal, injuries, illnesses and bad matches will create the need to complete a week. You can find our streamer suggestions at end of this list.

Now that we are officially in win or go home territory, there is no reason to be stingy with your exemption claims. If you need someone, get them. Penny is an obvious choice for the biggest claim of the week, if only for blocking another owner from getting it, but if you feel like you need a QB, WR, TE, or D / ST streamer, it’s not crazy to drop it Penny (or the RB Chargers) go through waivers and focus on someone else. However, since there’s likely no clear WR, TE, or D / ST in most leagues, you can probably focus on getting your streamers into free agency or at least the second round of waivers.

Ultimately it all comes down to who is available in your league and how competitive your league is. Ideally, teams not competing for anything will not disrupt the waiver process, but many teams are likely to submit multiple waiver requests. Take your time and file claims for anyone you think you’ll need, and be sure to handcuff your RBs at some point as well.

Best Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 15

Unless otherwise noted, only players owned less than 50 percent of the Yahoo leagues considered.

Rashaad Penny, RB, Seahawks. You never know what the Seahawks are going to do in their backfield until they do, but for once, coach Pete Carroll made good on his promise to give Penny more touches. The often injured former first-round player rushed 16 times for 137 yards and two touchdowns against lowly Texans, reminding everyone that he has many advantages when healthy and given the opportunity. Alex Collins barely played before the game got out of hand, so this appears to be Penny’s backfield for the foreseeable future. His next two matchups aren’t great (Rams, Bears), but a Week 17 matchup against the Lions is reason enough to catch him if you’re in your fantasy playoffs.

Taysom Hill, QB, Santos. Passing stats generally won’t impress you (175 yards, no TD in Week 14), but Hill remains a top-tier fantasy producer thanks to his running ability. A week after racking up more than 100 yards rushing, Hill finished with 73 yards and two touchdowns against the Jets. A big part of that came on a 44-yard TD run in garbage time, but ultimately, Hill always has the potential to post numbers like that. With the Bucs, Dolphins and Panthers in trouble for the next three weeks, Hill could make a big difference in the fantasy playoffs.

Justin Jackson, RB, Chargers. With Austin Ekeler suffering a sprained ankle that will likely keep him out of Thursday night’s Week 15 game against the Chiefs, a combination of Jackson, Joshua Kelley and Larry Rountree III will take over running back duties. Jackson and Kelley split the carries almost evenly after Ekeler left the game against New York, but Jackson has more reception advantages. We know how much LA likes to get on his back, so we give Jackson a slight nod as a priority. However, Kelley and even Rountree, who was inactive in Week 14, could easily lead the struggling team and get more carries at the goal line, so all backups need to be picked up. Ekeler could be out for several weeks, so a Chargers RB could really pay off in a premium showdown in Week 16 against Houston.

Gabriel Davis, WR, Bills. Davis has been seeing more targets around the goal line lately and has taken advantage of TD in each of the last two weeks. With Emmanuel Sanders (knee) leaving early in Week 14, Davis could continue to see more goals overall. In Buffalo’s high-powered, happy-passing offense, that would pay off in a big way. The matchups against Carolina and New England in the next two weeks are not overly attractive (although she scored against the Patriots in Week 13), but a Week 17 matchup against Atlanta will make Davis a very positive WR3.

Royce Freeman, RB, Texans. David Johnson (COVID) was inactive in Week 14 and Rex Burkhead left early due to a groin injury. That leaves Freeman (17 touches, 66 total yards in Week 14) as the best running back available on the depth chart. It is possible that both Johnson and Burkhead will return next week, Johnson is more likely to be, but as we always say, every starting RB has potential value. That’s especially true against the Jaguars, whom Freeman will face in Week 15. Houston will face the Chargers in Week 16, which is another very favorable matchup, so there is potential value in this backfield in the fantasy playoffs. Stay on top of all practice reports. (UPDATE: David Johnson was activated off the reserve / COVID list on Monday, reducing Freeman’s lead even if Burkhead is out in Week 15).
