Fantasy WR PPR Rankings Week 16: Who To Start, Sit On Wide Receiver In Fantasy Football

Most fantasy football owners, at least those still alive in their playoffs, are aware of the ridiculous number of players that have been on and off the reserve / COVID-19 roster over the last week, and we probably will. I have to keep dealing with that in the future. As such, it’s important to familiarize yourself with our Week 16 WR PPR fantasy rankings as you never know who will end up idle when game day rolls around. Hopefully, the worst is over for us, but either way, you’ll still have tough decisions to make to start and lay out this week that you must win.

AJ Brown (against 49ers) and Antonio Brown (@ Panthers) are eligible to return this week, and there’s little doubt that many Fantasy owners are patiently waiting to insert one of the Browns back into their rosters. Neither has particularly favorable matchups, but as long as they’re active both should start out for fantasy owners.

WEEK 16 PPR RANKINGS:
Field marshal | Running backwards | Tight end | D / ST | Kicker

Mike Evans and Chris Godwin (against 49ers) are too good to sit down despite the same tough matchup Antonio faces. The same goes for Stefon Diggs (@ Patriots). Brandin Cooks (against Chargers) is a boom or bust option, but he’s actually played better with Davis Mills, so you can still take a chance on him if you’re looking for a high ceiling.

WEEK 16 STANDARD RATINGS:
Field marshal | Running backwards | Wide receiver | Tight end | D / ST | Kicker

Jamison Crowder (vs. Jaguars), Amon-Ra St. Brown (@ Falcons) and Russell Gage (vs. Lions) appear to be the best PPR plays among players with less than 51 percent ownership in Yahoo’s leagues. In deeper leagues, Braxton Berrios (vs. Jaguars) and Josh Reynolds (@ Falcons) can also be considered. The loss of TJ Hockenson, Elijah Moore and Corey Davis has opened the door to more opportunities among Lions and Jets pass receivers, and in matchups as glorious as these, we’re pretty sure they’ll deliver.

Rise or fall players are more attractive in standard leagues, but at some point in the rankings, you need to consider them in PPR as well. Players in that group include Marquez Callaway and Tre’Quan Smith (against Dolphins), Marvin Jones and Laquon Treadwell (@ Jets), Robby Anderson (against Buccaneers) and Márquez Valdes-Scantling and Allen Lazard (against Browns). All but the Packers have solid matchups, but at this point, those WRs can explode or flop in any matchup when tied with Aaron Rodgers.

Jerry Jeudy (@ Raiders), Gabriel Davis and Cole Beasley (@ Patriots), Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney (@ Eagles), Rashod Bateman (@ Bengals), TY Hilton (@ Cardinals) and KJ Osborn (@ Rams) are in clashes difficult, and since we have not been able to count on them with any kind of consistency, it is possible, even probable, that you have better options. In fact, you can extend that to Michael Pittman (@ Cardinals), Marquise Brown (@ Bengals), and possibly Adam Thielen (@ Rams) if you come back, as they’ve all been in trouble or been hit lately. However, Brown has a high floor in PPR, making it the safest of that group.

At this point in the season, you need to be aware that non-rival teams take it easy on shattered players, as well as obvious COVID concerns. Have your backups ready, then have backups for your backups, and when in doubt, trust the pairings.

Note: We will update these WR PPR ratings as needed throughout the week, so please check back for the latest changes and analysis.
