Fernández Vara inaugurates the Iberovinac Wine and Olive Show, which is committed to the future of the sector


Gastronomy, food and hospitality professionals will once again be able to physically enjoy one of the most relevant events for them, the 21st edition of Iberovinac, the Vio y la Aceituna Hall, which is held every year at the Palacio del Vino and the Almendralejo Olive (Badajoz).

The appointment begins today with the inauguration by the president of the Junta de Extremadura, Guillermo Fernández Vara, and will last until Friday, April 22. Attendees will be able to visit the 58 exhibitor stands present at this edition where they will be able to establish business relationships and learn about the latest developments in the sector, as well as enjoy an extensive program of activities with monographic presentations, delivery of the Mantel Blanco Award for the best wine list, the Extremadura Sommelier Championship, the showcooking exhibition by chef Alejandro Hernández Talaván, from the Versatil restaurant, awarded a Michelin Star; all of them set for today Wednesday. More awards ceremonies, trade missions, tastings, tastings accompanied by a flamenco show, professional presentations and technical conferences organized by exhibitors are planned for tomorrow and the day after.

“Iberovinac maintains the objective of attracting professional visitors by generating business for companies and strengthening the image of the sector by showing its innovations, its dynamism and that it improves year after year,” says Saúl del Amo, councilor responsible for INFETIBA, Tierra de Barros Trade Fair Institution. Every year they work to make it possible and attractive for visitors, a fact that contributes to having the sponsorship of the Provincial Council of Badajoz and Cajalmendralejo, and the collaboration of the Junta de Extremadura through the Ministry of Economy, Science and Digital Agenda, and Extremadura Advance.

Technical seminars

One of the most attractive aspects for professionals are the technical presentations focused on analyzing both the current situation and the future of the wine and olive sector.

Today, at 11:00 it will be the turn of the so-called ‘With olives and wine the path is walked: a walk through Extremadura with food of differentiated quality’. Tomorrow Thursday, at 10:00, 11:00 and 12:30 respectively, ‘The new Reform of the CAP from 2023’; ‘The new Regulations for CAVA and organic vineyards’ and the presentation entitled ‘Tools for internationalisation’. On the last day of this professional show, Friday, attendees will be able to participate at 10:00 in the presentation of the ‘Study on the economic and social importance of the wine sector in Extremadura’, which will be attended by Begoña García, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, Population and Territory of the Junta de Extremadura.

Food and Wine Forum

With the return to attendance, the celebration of the Enogastronomic Forum is also recovered, set for Friday 22 and Saturday 23, although it will be held in the renovated Plaza de Extremadura in the town of Almond.

The organizers hope to repeat the success of previous editions, and for this reason they continue betting on the live music formula with performances by Charanga Brezosax, Analogic Band, De Casiná, Sixko Durán or Don del Aire; along with tastings of sausages, ham, wine, cava, oil, olives and other typical products of the gastronomy of Extremadura. In addition, a bullfight on Saturday or activities for the little ones in the house with cork workshops or an Escape Room for them.

During these days, the many attendees to the event will enjoy an extensive program of activities and establish business relationships. A must for professionals and lovers of gastronomy, food and hospitality, which is committed to quality, innovation and internationalization.
