Proposals to enjoy Extremaduran autumn

Starting this Friday, Extremadura will begin to dye its landscapes and streets with those ochre, red and yellow tones that lovers of this season love so much. This September 23, autumn enters, for many their favorite season of the year, and our region offers you numerous plans to celebrate and enjoy it. Strolling through nature covered in red, hiking trails, enjoying the Jerte Valley autumn or doing mycological tourism are some of the plans that Extremadura offers to make autumn the most special season.

sleep among the trees

Imagine waking up surrounded by reddish nature. Welcoming autumn from the Cabins in the Trees of Extremadura can become a perfect plan to enjoy with the family, give it a romantic touch as a couple, or to disconnect alone.

It is located in Villasbuenas de Gata, Cáceres, and they have cabins for up to 5 people. Until there they take you breakfast in the morning, which you can enjoy while you are in full contact with the beauty of the oak grove that is embraced by the waters of the Rivera de Gata reservoir.

To complete the experience, they offer activities such as canoe or boat rides on the reservoir, trampolines, hiking, fishing and 4×4 routes.

Sleeping among the trees, walking around the farm picking fruits that you can eat, sailing through the reservoir, having breakfast in the cabin, romantic dinners with views… What more could you ask for?

The Almossassa of Badajoz

This weekend the already traditional Arab festival is celebrated in the city again. If you want to welcome autumn in a big way, the party starts this Friday, September 23 and will be until Sunday in the Old Town of Badajoz. The epicenter of the party will be the Plaza Alta which, from Friday to Sunday, will be transformed into an Arab souk.

There will be stalls among artisans, tea houses and food booths. The Arab camp and the bird exhibition will be installed in the Alcazaba, as well as falconry exhibitions in the Galera gardens and in the Plaza del Reloj. There will also be children’s activities in the Plaza de Santa María, where they can enjoy the crafts and crafts workshops.

Autumn of the Jerte Valley

Welcome autumn by hiking through the Jerte Valley and its incredible autumn landscapes, coinciding with the so-called Otoñada del Valle del Jerte. This is a series of activities that take place in the autumn season in the different towns of the Valle del Jerte, where in addition to enjoying a unique landscape, with the tones of autumn on the slopes of the Valley, you will be able to witness the now classic events of these dates.

In the emblematic Valle de Ambroz (Cáceres) hiking trails are organized to relive the magic of the forests and rediscover the landscapes of Extremadura through the smells and colors of autumn.

Thermal tourism is a clear example of Extremadura’s cultural variety. For example, you can enjoy two spas of Roman origin in the community: Alange and Baños de Montemayor. Receiving autumn from there is a most relaxing feeling that will help you completely disconnect.
