It’s official: The 2026 FIFA World Cup is coming to Dallas.
The Dallas-Fort Worth area was named one of 16 host sites on Thursday for the quadrennial tournament, with matches slated four summers from now in the 80,000-capacity AT&T Stadium in Arlington. There were 22 total cities in contention for a World Cup bid.
Here is some reaction to the announcement.
Another huge win for Dallas! We are thrilled — and we are READY to help host the biggest sporting event in the world, the World Cup. Now, let’s make sure we get some of the action to @fairparkdallas! #Dallas2026

Jerry Jones was asked if getting the World Cup bigger than winning the Super Bowl. “Candidly I think it’s a broader interest from the perspective of Dallas.”

Congratulations to the city of Dallas for landing a host city role for the 2026 World Cup and the opposite of congratulations to everyone in the Metroplex that has listen to people fight over whether it’s actually Arlington hosting and not Dallas.
