On the regatta field, the German Gunnar Biniasch once again showed off his skill with the wing foil by crossing the finish line in first place in the first two races of the day, after which the intensity of the wind decreased and the regatta committee indicated sailors to return to the beach to wait for the wind to freshen up.

Soon after, the fleet was able to get back on the water and contest two more races before calling it a day. An error in the third round penalized Biniasch with eleven points, but thanks to the fact that in the next test he came first again and that misstep could be ruled out of the score, the German finished the day in a provisional first place in the queen category of the circuit. Together with him, Pedro Simó, from Alicante, signed a second place in the classification with two seconds and two thirds in the day’s tests and while the young Hugo Ferrer closed the provisional podium with a third place.

Arriving at the beach, the young Hugo Ferrer, from the Real Club Náutico de Calpe, commented: “It is the first time that I come to Tarifa, it is a very beautiful place and very good to navigate. The day went quite well, with little wind and we had to get out of the water once, but we were able to reach the minimum tests necessary to apply a discard. I am very happy with my results and I hope to be able to maintain my position and even improve it tomorrow.”
