Health has given the go-ahead to the El Campello Sports Center to massively vaccinate campelleros and residents of Aigües in April from 18 to 55 years old. The members of the Health delegation have inspected today the pavilion in order to verify its suitability to host, as of April, the mass vaccination of the residents of the municipality and neighboring Aigües that fall within the age range that goes from 18 to 55 years. “It is perfect, Meets all requirements and we are delighted with the collaboration we have had from the City Council ”, said Beatriz Massa Domínguez, manager of the Alacant-Sant Joan d’Alacant Health Department. The recipient of the gratitude has been the Councilor for Public Health Rafa Galvañ (PP), who has served as a guide on the tour of the sports complex.
Previously, in the past two weeks there have been visits by technical and health teams from the Department, who were in charge of transferring to Rafa Galvañ the basic needs so that the facilities were optimal to start the vaccination process
Easy, fast and central location, wide parking area, total accessibility, and well-defined areas for the administrative and health personnel who will be in charge of inoculating the population in this first phase with the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine. These characteristics identify the El Campello Sports Center.
In the last two weeks, the City Council has fenced off the premises, has carried out a cleaning and disinfection in depth of the facilities, it has arranged tables, protective cabinets, screens, chairs and stretchers, it has improved the lighting, it has sectorized and marked the entire ground floor of the building, it has marked safety distances in the outdoor plaza that users must respect, It has arranged hydroalcoholic gel dispensers that are operated with the foot, it has adapted offices and vaccination rooms and it has marked entry and exit points of the building.
“It meets all the requirements, from the administrative area to the infirmary to attend to cases of reaction to the vaccine, and of course spaces for the vaccination itself,” said Beatriz Massa.
Health estimates that vaccination will start in the first days of April, and it is not ruled out that it is from the same day 1, Thursday. From that moment, and from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday, the population of both municipalities between 18 and 55 years old will be vaccinated, at a rate of about 1,000 daily injections. It is estimated that within 12 days the entire population of that age group could be vaccinated.
For his part, Councilor Rafa Galvañ has indicated that his main effort has been, and is, to condition the facilities to achieve that suitability confirmed today by the health official. “It is a joy for the entire population to know that, at last, we are beginning to see the light after this long tunnel that we are going through. We are ready to facilitate everything you ask for Health. Mass vaccination is the solution, and we already have it at our fingertips ”.
