How to download YouTube videos on mobile

It is clear that, when it comes to watching videos on the Internet, YouTube is still the absolute king despite the number of streaming options we have today. It may be that there is one of these videos that you like a lot, so today we are going to tell you how you can download it from your Android mobile terminal.

It is clear that YouTube continues to have the same influence as before, no matter how many streaming platforms have been launched. It is still the favorite of almost everyone to watch videos, moderately short and very specific, enjoying the most relevant YouTubers.

But it may happen that we are seeing something very interesting and that we have to leave it halfway. In these cases, it would be best to be able to save it on our device to see it later, perhaps because we have no connection or because it is not powerful enough to be able to load said video.

We have several possibilities to achieve it, from the very official appuntil third-party apps That allow us download and save the videos what we want

Use the official app for Android

We are going to start by seeing how you can download a video from the YouTube application itself, in its two aspects, that is, the one that is free and the one that requires us to be registered with YouTube Premium.

From the free app that we all have, you can download videos to watch them offline on our mobile, yes, this will only work from the YouTube application itself.

This means that we can be without a data network or WiFi, we will go to the YouTube app and those that we have saved we will see without problems.

To achieve this, we must first perform a few steps that we are going to tell you about.

  • We enter YouTube and we go to the video that we want to download.
  • Once we’re in and playing it (that is, the advertising has passed) we will see a series of buttons at the bottom, where the I like.
  • If we move them to the left, we will see how to the right at all it comes out Keep. It’s an icon with an arrow pointing down.
  • Once we have pressed it, it will already be saved on our phone.

To see it, all we have to do is enter YouTube, regardless of whether we have a network or not, click on the bottom right where it says library.

Then we will see a list called watch later, where we must click to see that the video we have saved is inside. This is where it is saved unless we have created another list with a different name.

If we had an account YouTube Premiumin the same place where we have seen the Save button, there is another one that says Downloadwhich does download the video in the traditional way to our smartphone.

The bad thing is that YouTube Premium is paid, so if you don’t want to spend money, you only have the option you just read or the ones we’re going to tell you right now.

We will do it through Snaptube

Now it is the turn of a third-party app with which we are going to be able to download our YouTube videos in MP4 format to be able to watch them whenever we want, without the need for a network. It even allows you to download the videos in MP3.

The first thing we must do is install SnapTube on our Android device from this link, downloading the APK file and then running it to install the application. From there, follow these steps:

  • At the top of SnapTube we have a search bar that we can use to search for the name of the video we want to download, the name of the channel or directly enter the URL of the same if we have it.
  • Once we are inside the video, just below its name we have a button that says Downloadwhich we must press.
  • Next, it launches a window where we will see the different options we have for downloading the video, both in MP3 as in MP4.
  • The moment you press the resolution you want, it tells you that the video is downloading, to also tell us when the download has finished.

As you can see, it’s extremely easy to use SnapTube to download any YouTube video, have it in the resolution you want, and be able to watch it whenever you want.

The video is saved in the internal memory of the device inside the folder Snaptube / Download / SnapTube Video /

We use TubeMate YouTube Downloader

Another option we have to lower the videos that we want from YouTube to our mobile terminal with android operating system is TubeMate.

This program works in a similar way to what we have seen with SnapTube. The first thing is to download and install it using an APK, and then open it and follow these instructions.

  • As you can see in TubeMate we are inside YouTube so we have to search for the video that we want to download just as we do in the official app.
  • Once inside the video, all we have to do is press the red button with a down arrow inside itwhich is located at the bottom right.
  • Then we will be presented with the different options we have to download the file, either in MP3 or MP4 (with different resolutions) and even in WEBM.
  • When we have chosen the one that best suits what we need, we select and press the red button again (if we download MP3 or 1080p it asks us to install Video MP3 Converter).
  • From there we will have the file downloaded on our mobile to be able to enjoy it whenever we want.

TubeMate leaves us all what we download in the Video folder if it is MP4 or WEBM and in the audio folder if it is MP3.

As you have seen, it is very easy and simple to download videos from YouTube to our mobile, so anyone will be able to do it and enjoy them even when there is no connection at all.
