How to hydrate chapped hands from excessive use of alcohol antibacterial gel

Continuous use of antibacterial gel can crack our hands, which is a collateral effect that healthcare professionals may already be used to. This also applies to continuous hand washing.

However, both cases are susceptible to certain measures and care that can lead to a restoration of skin health. Such care does not interfere with those that target Covid-19, so there will be no inconvenience in that regard.

1. Massages with olive oil

Olive oil has a high content of antioxidants and essential fatty acids which make it a very good ingredient for rough hand care.

Massaging your hands with warm olive oil will be very favorable to avoid dryness.

Olive oil contributes to the nutrition and hydration of the skin, being able to prevent premature aging, which happens relatively frequently if they are not given proper care.

We have to heat a little olive oil to later massage with both hands for a period of between 8 and 10 minutes. This massage should be done 2 times a day, and for a whole week.

2. Use oatmeal paste

Oatmeal acts as cleanser and exfoliator that reduces impurities present on the skin, also avoiding the dryness of the skin by having proteins that prevent the loss of moisture.

We will prepare a thick paste with 1 tablespoon of ground oats and 1 tablespoon of honey. Delicately and in a circular way, we have to rub the mixture in our hands and let it act for about 8-10 minutes.

3. Apply virgin coconut oil

Like olive oil, virgin coconut oil contains a high content of antioxidants and essential fats which make it a useful ingredient for hand hydration.

Apply some virgin olive oil to your hands and massage in delicate circles for 5 to 8 minutes before going to sleep. If possible, put on some gloves afterwards for best results when you wake up.

It is recommended to follow this process 3 or 4 times a week for 1 month.

4. Aloe vera cream and rosehip oil

Aloe vera is a plant whose moisturizing power is excellent. In addition, it has an antioxidant capacity that greatly helps cell regeneration and the reduction of damage caused by free radicals. Rosehip oil enhances its effects.

Extract the aloe vera gel and mix it in a bowl with a few drops of the oil. Apply the resulting mixture using gentle massages and leave it to act for a few minutes so that the nutrients penetrate the skin.

These tips will help you not to sacrifice the integrity of your hands as a result of the Covid-19 contingency. If you apply them, your hands will eventually return to their most optimal state.
