How to view saved passwords on Windows, Android and iPhone

If you want to find out what the password is for one of your logins, whether it’s Windows, Android or iPhone, we’ll show you how.

Today we have so many logins to different apps and websites that it is impossible to keep track of all of them. Here the problem comes when there are so many passwords that, if we don’t keep track, it can get out of hand.

We leave you here linked an article on how to create an indecipherable password that you will never forget.

Well, whether it’s on Android, iPhone or even Windows, we have some other tool to be able to locate these passwords and get out of doubt before a login. Of course, here the security levels, how could it be otherwise, are quite strict before revealing it.

How to view saved passwords in Windows

Our operating systems are able to remember our username and password so we don’t have to type them over and over again. In this case we focus on Windows 10, which also has this ability.

All of our login credentials, including usernames, passwords, and addresses, are stored in a Windows digital space called Credential Manager. Here, these are divided into two groups: Web Credentials and Windows Credentials.

To access this credential space, we have several options, although the simplest is through the search bar and our Control Panel. Once you access this:

  • Find the User Account there and click on it.
  • You will find the Credential Manager under the User Account.
  • Then you will have Windows Credentials and Web Credentials as options. To view passwords in Windows 10, click Web Credentials.

How to view saved passwords on Android

If you use an Android device, you probably know that it can store a variety of your passwords on it. From your social media account passwords to your WiFi passwords, these store it all.

The reason these devices do this is that they want to make it easier to enter your passwords every time you want to log in to a service.

Your Android phone has different locations for different passwords, so you won’t find all your passwords in one location. The reason is basically for security. This way we avoid that if someone accesses some, they do not access all of them.

Let’s see the easiest way to find these passwords:

  • First of all, open the browser and touch the button to access settings.
  • Select the “Passwords” option.
  • Press “Check passwords” if you want to make a small check that all of them are really protected.
  • To see the password for a login, just tap on the email and on the page that opens tap on the viewer. It will ask you to verify your identity and then reveal it to you.

How to view saved passwords on iPhone

Finally, let’s go with iPhone mobiles. It’s also very simple here, because thanks to iCloud Keychain, you can see the passwords saved in the Settings of your iPhone instead of having to remember them.

What this does, like the rest, is to facilitate the login, since the iPhone password manager recovers and autocompletes them whenever you need them. Also, sync login information between all your devicesso you don’t have to manually update passwords on any of them.

It is true that you can use Siri to find a password and take you to the manager. If you have Siri set to listen, you can just say “Hey Siri, show my passwords” to see the entire list.

However, if we want to do it manually, the iPhone password manager allows you look for them in the phone’s Settings app:

  • Open the Settings app.
  • Scroll down and tap on Passwords.
  • Use Face ID when prompted.
  • To view a password, select the corresponding website or application.

An important point of iPhone is that, as you can see, iCloud is the key to all of this, so make sure you know what to do if you’ve forgotten your iCloud password.

Of course, as you can see, it is practically the same as in Android and Windows. The three options give us some very simple steps, but always with maximum security, to access our passwords and not lose our lives in it.
