Through 3 Quarters

Down one at the end of last quarter, the Washington Wizards have now snagged the lead. a victory is still up for grabs for either squad after three quarters, but they are up 87-85 over the Detroit Pistons

Power forward Kyle Kuzma (15 points), point guard Raul Neto (13 points), and small forward Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (13 points) have been the top scorers for the Wizards. Power forward Jerami Grant has led the way so far for Detroit, as he has 20 points and four assists.

Detroit hasn’t lost 91% of the games in which they were down heading into the final period this year, so a win here would be refreshing.

What to Know

The Detroit Pistons haven’t won a contest against the Washington Wizards since April 1 of last year, but they’ll be looking to end the drought Tuesday. They will face off against one another at 7 p.m. ET at Capital One Arena. The Pistons will be strutting in after a victory while Washington will be stumbling in from a defeat.

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Detroit ultimately got the result they were hoping for on Sunday with a 127-126 win over the Charlotte Hornets. Detroit can attribute much of their success to small forward Saddiq Bey, who had 28 points in addition to eight boards, and power forward Kelly Olynyk, who had 20 points along with eight rebounds. Olynyk’s performance made up for a slower matchup against the Boston Celtics this past Saturday.

Meanwhile, Washington was within striking distance but couldn’t close the gap this past Saturday as they fell 92-86 to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Point guard Raul Neto wasn’t much of a difference maker for Washington; Neto played for 25 minutes but put up just four points on 2-for-10 shooting.

The Pistons are expected to lose this next one by 3. They might be worth taking a chance on against the spread, however, as they are currently on a four-game streak of ATS wins.

Detroit’s win brought them up to 15-46 while the Wizards’ loss pulled them down to 27-33. Detroit is 3-11 after wins this year, and Washington is 15-17 after losses.
