The first known case dates from the end of 2019. A mother went to the Arganzuela police station to report the continuous escapes from her daughter’s house, a minor, to go to “drug sales areas in San Cristóbal and Villaverde »: «My daughter is already addicted. I know there they abuse my daughter and other minors and adults. In exchange for sex, they keep them inside the flats for days. Abusing her as they please. I have come to find my daughter almost unconscious there. The last time you ran away [el 29 de diciembre de 2019] It was with Ismael Rafael DM, a Dominican who belongs to Latin gangs.
He was serving a sentence for drug trafficking, but he is on prison leave. Then, two years ago, the court closed the case. Now, after uncovering the girl prostitution plot of the Sana operation, that victim is one of the ten now released. Yes, two years later. How long it has taken to include this girl again in a case, at least this one, which could have been stopped much earlier. It was filed for being a voluntary disappearance.
One of the most serious chapters is played by a 14-year-old minor. He has a very hard life behind him, with a drug addict father and continuous escapes, first from his house and then from the center where he was. She was found by the Police in a squat full of drug addicts: «I sleep in the house of an adult couple [se cree que amigos de su progenitor], who sell drugs and, in exchange for taking care of their children, they offer it to me». It so happens that it is the same as, inside the reception center, he cut his wrists, without, luckily, dying.
The judicial summary includes multiple examples, like this one, of how the 37 arrested on November 30 (there are only eight of them in prison, so the ten minors who are known as victims are very scared and have protected witness status) they managed to dupe them. To make them fall in love, too. To get them hooked on drugs, have them at their mercy and prostitute them and rape them continuously to get money from them. And to even use them as ‘mules’ to distribute drugs such as cocaine, crack, heroin, marijuana and hashish. An infinite and invisible wheel, hell at street level in the heart of Madrid and with several of these girls being supervised by the Community in specialized centers.
“Invisible Chains”
There are testimonies, one of the harshest, that recount precisely how in one of those public resources, in Aranjuez, he started taking drugs: “I started using cannabis that he bought from a Moroccan from the center, ”he says in a handwritten letter owned by court number 8 in Madrid. Was 14 years old. He had passed through the first reception center in Hortaleza. He also contacted the cousin of one of those North Africans (unaccompanied foreign minors, ores) with whom he alternated in the center: “He deflowered me,” he added.
The XXII Group of the Family and Women’s Care Unit of the Madrid Judicial Police Brigade (Ufam) has drawn up reports incorporated into the case detailing these recruitment efforts for the trafficking of these offspring. “The minors have an evident lack of maturity, coming from disadvantaged environments, with school failure and usually supervised in the center, ”they indicate; and emphasizing the fact that, by continually absconding (“many do not have money to eat or sleep”), they find themselvesn “a situation of extreme vulnerability”. “This makes them join the first focus of affection or emotional well-being that arises,” they sentence. And this is how the culture broth is already fertilized.
The Police indicate that the mafia was looking for this type of profile. For example, in one of the courts that appear in some recordings, in San Cristóbal de los Ángeles, the rapper appears with another investigated. And that was precisely where they contacted the protected witness number 7. The minor number 1 also refers to a place “where Saymol and Kalifa”, two of the main recruiters, “took minors”: “It is a point of sale of drugs where the Dominicans stop, “adds the little girl.
Rape at a party
The police report details that in that bar they appear cutting drugs with a knife and they can also be seen in the video a gas torch (to cook the cocaine base) and a gun. Witness 2’s mother also refers to the fact that her daughter was with the rapper when she was 13 years old.
About Metralla, another of the first suspects, it is reported that, along with another “Dominican singer”, he was investigated for the alleged sexual assault of a minor at a party in January 2021. Then there’s the lover boy technique‘, a very common figure in the trafficking of Romanian women but which also occurs in this Latin American environment. “The organization uses the adults of the lower rungs of the organization, taking advantage of their ‘charms’ to try to make the minors fall in love”, with “false affection and entertaining them with numerous details”.
Taking advantage of this affective attachment, they introduce them to the drug shantytowns of San Cristóbal de los Ángeles, Marconi, Vallecas and Villaverde, until they create dependency and prostitute them. What is known in jargon as “invisible chains”. Two of the witnesses speak of Kalifa and Chuky as their “boyfriends” and they made them sleep with others.
They threatened them “with beating them with an ashtray”, shouting “I’m going to kill you!” The beatings were tremendous and infected with scabies, chlamydia and gonorrhea.
