Future in Spanish returns to Valencia today as an unavoidable appointment for reflection around innovation, taking advantage of the open bridges on both sides of the Atlantic that the community of hundreds of millions of Spanish-speakers build every day. The forum, organized by the Vocento group, the newspaper LAS PROVINCIAS and CAF-Banco de Desarrollo de América Latina, is held at the Hotel Balneario Las Arena in the Valencian capital with a program of panels and interventions focused on the revitalization of innovative ecosystems and in disseminating experiences that contribute to the development and growth of innovation both in Latin America and in Spain in particular and in the European Union in general.

The meeting will be welcomed by the diplomat José Antonio García Belaunde, representative in Europe of CAF- Development Bank of Latin America, and Jesús Trelis, director of LAS PROVINCIAS. Pedro Pernía, territorial director of the Ministry of Innovation, Universities, Science and Digital Society, will offer the opening speech, while Patricio Montesinos, director of the Innovative Ecosystems project of the Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture (OEI ), will offer his vision on the strengthening and promotion of this type of business ecosystems.

Panels

The first panel discussion will focus on the articulation with triple helix format of innovation ecosystems, in which the business fabric, the university community and public administrations collaborate. The space will be moderated by the director of SME Development of CAF-Development Bank of Latin America, Jairo Tuisabá, and will have the participation of Jimena Estrella, secretary of International Relations and Postgraduate Studies of the National University of Cuyo-Uncuyo (Mendoza, Argentina ), Paola Vega Castillo, Minister of Science, Innovation, Technology and Telecommunications of Costa Rica, Miguel Burdeos, President of the Innovation Commission and Vice President of the Business Confederation of the Valencian Community (CEV), and Sergio Calvo, Vice-Rector for Relations Institutional and University Life of the European University of Madrid.

After a brief pause, the analysis on the importance of business innovation in SMEs will focus the second of the Future in Spanish discussion panels. In this round table they will confront their different professional visions Juan Manuel Díez, Head of Strategic Planning and Innovation of the Port Authority of Valencia (Valenciaport), Nacho Mas, CEO of the Startup Valencia business association, Ángel Buigues, BStartup Advisor of Banco Sabadell, and Álex Penadés, Brand Director for North America of the textile firm Jeanología.

The closing speech will feature the participation of Sandra Gómez, first deputy mayor of the Valencia City Council and head of the Urban Development area of ​​the Valencian capital city council.

The innovative and technological ecosystem of Valencia maintains an exponential growth in recent years and is one of the most dynamic and flourishing in Europe.
