  • Particle heaters and filters: They are two elements of diesel whose maintenance you also have to take to the letter. The heaters are to a diesel what the spark plugs are to a gasoline engine: they are located in the cylinders and, unlike these, instead of causing the spark so that the compressed gasoline explodes and moves the pistons, what they do is that the fuel burns.
  • Working temperature and cooling of the turbo: you should know that all thermal engines are designed to work at an optimal temperature and that in the case of diesel, this tends to take a little longer to reach. The ideal is that the first km you do them at low revolutions. And when you arrive from a long trip, before turning off the engine, leave it in neutral for a minute to cool down.
  • Short distances: Another very simple and effective trick is to avoid too short distances on a daily basis. These types of daily journeys that involve a cold start and immediately turning off the engine, starting it again… prematurely age a diesel.
  • AdBlue: refuel only with a quality product, under no circumstances allow it to expire. And, of course, do not rush too much to fill the AdBlue tank or you will generate waste and more risk of unnecessary breakdowns.
