Is there trash pickup on Easter Monday 2022?

The trash pickup schedules on various holidays and days like Easter Monday differ for every county or city within every state.

The city of Philadelphia’s website announced: “After a City-observed holiday, trash and recycling collection are delayed by one day for the rest of the week.”

However, while Good Friday is a city-observed holiday, meaning that Friday’s trash was picked up on Saturday, Easter Monday is not a city-wide day off, hence there will be no changes in the pickup schedule.

The city of West Haven in Connecticut has also revealed on its website that only four 2022 holidays will delay the curbside pickup by one day. These are Memorial Day (Monday, May 30), Independence Day (Monday, July 4), Labor Day (Monday, September 5) and Thanksgiving (Thursday, November 24).

Hence, in the city of West Haven, there are no changes in trash pickup on Easter Monday.

For Maryland’s Montgomery County, April 18 is once again not a county holiday, unlike New Year’s Day – January 1 and Martin Luther King, Jr. Day – the third Monday in January. Hence, trash pickup will take place as usual.
