The opposite player Isa Espino will be the new captain of Extremadura Arroyo next season 2022/23, after the decision adopted in this regard by the president of the entity, Adolfo Gómez, and the coach of the team that plays in Superliga Femenina 2, Flavia Lima.

In this way, Espino takes the witness from the eternal captain Yohana Rodríguez, and from María Carrero last season, a circumstance that, in her opinion, “is like a dream, it is what any girl aspires to since she arrives at the teams of quarry”. In this sense, the player from Arroyo affirms that with this new responsibility, “I hope to give my best and help the team to continue growing, and of course, to get back to the top of the qualifying table.” And she underlines the great work of the previous captain from whom she hopes to follow her example. “I am confident that I can live up to the legacy left by our beloved Yohana and do my best, for the team, the club and the fans,” continues Isa Espino.

For his part, Adolfo Gómez points out that the player from Arroyo “has all the qualities to take the captaincy, first of all she is from Arroyo de la Luz, she is the most veteran of the quarry and, without a doubt, she is one of the team’s benchmarks for a long time.” The president of the entity was clear about the choice from the first moment that he agreed with the coach. “When Flavia and I analyzed it, we immediately came to the conclusion that she was the ideal person to take on that responsibility, not because she is the best player, but because she is representative of the squad due to many and varied factors, and we are convinced that will do very well”, concludes Gómez.

El Arroyo wins the first Extremadura New Energies Tournament

Last Saturday, Extremadura Arroyo won the first edition of the Extremadura New Energies Tournament, one of the Extremaduran club’s sponsors this season, after clearly defeating Extremadura Almendralejo and CV Torrejón.

In the match played in the morning session, the team coached by the Brazilian Flavia Lima defeated the team from Almond 3-0, in a typical pre-season match, with some imbalances and tests that even led to the entry of youth players.

In their second game, the team from Arroyo also beat the Madrid squad by another resounding 3-0, with really interesting moments of play for it being their first preseason trophy.

Next weekend, the team from Cáceres will travel to Lisbon to play another triangular match against the Portuguese teams Ovidelas and Piedense.
