Jamaica vs. USA Live Score, Updates, CONCACAF World Cup Qualifier Highlights

The United States men’s national team is at the top of the regional rankings for the World Cup after their victory last week against archrival Mexico. Next is a trip to Kingston, Jamaica, which has proven to be anything but easy in the past (US 1W-1L-4D record in playoffs).

The Reggae Boyz are in sixth place (six points) and seven points away from places that would give them an automatic spot in the World Cup. With five home games in their last seven games, Jamaica will be desperate to rack up wins at home, starting with the United States on Tuesday.

Team U SA is on track to clinch a World Cup berth in the next qualifying round in January 2022, but a loss in Jamaica could complicate things again, depending on other results. The Americans will have two winnable home games (against El Salvador and Honduras) and a trip to Canada in their next three games.

MORE: Classification and qualification results for the World Cup

United States – Timothy Weah – 11 min.
JAM – Michail Antonio – 22 min.

(All the eastern time)

22 min .: What a goal from Michail Antonio! If you’re a USA fan or goalie Zack Steffen, you tip your cap at the West Ham man with a 30-yard blast that he threw under the bar. What power is behind that.

21 min: USMNT squanders a free throw to the left. Gianluca Busio with the ball out of play.

16 min .: Two great saves on point-blank shots from Jamaica goalkeeper Andre Blake! That US goal has turned the momentum in America’s favor for now.

11 min.: Goal USA! Out of nowhere, a moment of brilliance from Timothy Weah, who made a penetrating solo run down the left and lifted the ball over Andre Blake’s shoulder from a difficult angle. What you might not know about Weah: His mother is Jamaican.

10 minutes .: There is no rhythm for this game. No sustained possession. A sloppy and choppy start for both teams.

8 min.: First yellow of the match and of course it is Je-Vaughn Watson. Wild challenge in Gianluca Busio.

1st min .: They were out. USA covered in their own half to start the match. Chris Richards is the left center-back, with Walker Zimmerman in his usual right-center position.

3:53 pm: Young training. But can it get the job done?
