The renowned artist stars in two exhibitions, one with Misterpiro, in which the figures will come to life with augmented reality

They will not be just pictorial exhibitions, but full artistic experiences. It is the new proposal of the artist Enrique Jiménez Carrero, who returns to Plasencia with a double exhibition and anticipates that it will be the last time that he will exhibit something similar to what he opens tomorrow.

Accompanied by his son Enrique Jiménez, who is the curator of the exhibition; the Councilor for Culture, Marisa Bermejo, and Cristina Cano, as representative of the Caja de Extremadura Foundation, the artist publicly presented his double exhibition this morning and thanked the two entities for collaborating with him on it.

On the one hand, Enrique Jiménez presents, in collaboration with another of the great Placentino artists, Andrés Sánchez Ocaña (Misterpiro), a mural in the entrance hall of the Casa del Deán. The headquarters of the old courts has been closed for years but now, from April 29 to August 3, it will open its doors as an artistic space. A special place for the painter born in Granadilla because it was there that he began to paint. Now he will exhibit the large mural, entitled ‘Passion and life’, which shows the fusion of two different artists, in which the abstract and the figurative will go hand in hand and in which the figures will come to life thanks to augmented reality, as explained this morning by the curator of the exhibition.

But, in addition, a soundtrack composed for the occasion by Jaime Summers will help to understand the transit that the work transmits through the religious-themed paintings that reflect the expulsion, annunciation, adoration and piety, wrapped in the aura created by Misterpiro .

Texts by Fernando Talaván and Diana Navarro

Because Jiménez Carrero has wanted in this way to collaborate with his art as a prelude to the arrival of The Ages of Man and the Transitus that will narrate the XXVI edition of the sacred exhibition of Castilla y León. And, above all, “reinforce the cultural offer of Plasencia at this time so that those who visit us have more reasons to stay in our land.”

And if augmented reality and music will make it possible to live a different pictorial experience in the Casa del Deán, the texts that can be heard and read in Las Claras, created by Fernando Talaván and Diana Navarro, will complete the 40 works that will make up Enrique’s second exhibition Jiménez Carrero in Plasencia. He thus returns with ‘The last trip’ to the place where he made the first exhibition of his life.

«In Plasencia I started my trip and here I had to finish it», the painter said this morning. In an exhibition of varied themes and techniques in which he has worked for the last five years, the time that Plasencia has not enjoyed his art.

The inauguration of ‘Pasión y vida’ at the Casa del Deán will be this Friday at 8:00 p.m. and half an hour later ‘The last trip’ will take place at the cultural center of Las Claras.
