Most people like tests, quizzes and games in quiz format. Why? We love to test our knowledge, compete with others and show off our skills.
For this reason, these types of games are ideal in different environments. In classrooms, these tests are perfect for motivating students and promoting learning. In the workplace, quizzes can be part of an event, celebration or conference, as part of a gamification strategy. And with family or friends, it is an excellent pastime to spend a fun time with the people we love.
If you want to create your own tests quickly and easily, you can do it quickly and easily with Kahoot!. We explain what this platform is and how it works.
Getting Started Guide to Kahoot!
What is Kahoot!
If you are not very clear what is Kahoot! We will start by explaining what it consists of. It is a learning platform through which any user can create fun learning-oriented tests.
This online service was founded in 2012 by Morten Versvik, Johan Brand and Jamie Brooker who, in a joint project with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), partnered with Professor Alf Inge Wang and later with the entrepreneur Asmund Furuseth. The private beta version of the app was launched in March 2013 and opened to the public a few months later in September of the same year.
Kahoot’s mission! is to promote learning through curiosity and play. The secret of the platform is to make learning fun and social, two characteristics that drive the acquisition of new skills in all people, regardless of subject, age or ability.
Although in its beginnings Kahoot! it was a platform aimed at education in the classroom, with the rise of gamification it was also extended to other areas, such as business training, sporting and cultural events, or any other social and learning context.
Currently, the platform is present in more than 200 countries worldwide. Any user can create their games, called kahoot, and there are already more than 100 million of all themes.

How to create a test or kahoot
You can create your first kahoot both in the web version and in the applications for iOS and Android. We are going to explain how to do it step by step through the apps, since the entire interface is translated into Spanish (in the web version the vast majority of the interface is in English). The process is very simple and will not take much time.
After installing the app on your mobile, start it up and log in with your access codes. Then, click on the Create option in the lower menu to enter the form to create your quiz. Here you have to add a cover image, a title and a description. Don’t worry if you don’t know what photo to put, Kahoot! It has a wide catalog of images that you can use.
If you click on the gear icon you can add an intro video, and if you click on Kahoot settings you can select the language and visibility.
The next step is to add the questions. To do so, tap the Add Question button and select one of the available formats. In the free version you can choose between quiz and true or false questions. If you have a paid account you can also enter questions in puzzle, short answer, word cloud, survey, open question and slide formats.
We select, for example, quiz type question. We can add an image or a video by tapping on the corresponding section. Click on the time, highlighted in purple, to adjust the seconds participants will have to answer. Then write the question and add at least two possible answers (you can include a total of four answers in this format). Each answer can have an image, and you will have to indicate which one is correct.
Enter all the questions you want to ask in your test by clicking on the + button and adding as many as you want. To see the result, Click on the three dots icon located in the upper right corner and then tap on the Preview option.
