What to Know
The Phoenix Suns and the Sacramento Kings will face off in a Pacific Division clash at 6 pm ET March 20 at Golden 1 Center. The Suns know how to get points on the board — the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups — so hopefully Sacramento likes a good challenge.
A well-balanced attack led Phoenix over the Chicago Bulls every single quarter on their way to victory this past Friday. Phoenix blew past Chicago 129-102. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Phoenix had established a 95-72 advantage. Center Deandre Ayton and shooting guard Devin Booker were among the main playmakers for Phoenix as the former dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 boards and the latter had 28 points.
Meanwhile, the oddsmakers predicted a rough game for the Kings this past Friday, and boy were they were right. Things couldn’t have gone much worse for them as they lost 126-97 to the Boston Celtics. Sacramento was in a tough position by the half, with the score already sitting at 67-48. One thing holding Sacramento back was the mediocre play of point guard Davion Mitchell, who did not have his best game: he finished with 12 points on 5-for-14 shooting and turned the ball over four times in his 35 minutes on the court.
Phoenix is the favorite in this one, with an expected 8-point margin of victory. They are currently four-for-four against the spread in their most recent games, a trend bettors might want to take into account.
Phoenix’s victory lifted them to 57-14 while Sacramento’s loss dropped them down to 25-47. Allowing an average of 115.71 points per game, Sacramento hasn’t exactly asserted themselves on the defensive end. We’ll see if they can patch up the holes in their defense before their upcoming contest.
