The first acid test for DAZN in Spain has arrived this weekend. Until now, the company had the rights to competitions as popular as the Premier League, Formula 1 or Moto GP in our country. However, in terms of follow-up, nothing here competes with the massive fury unleashed by LaLigachampionship for which they have broadcast rights from this season.
The competition kicked off this weekend, and DAZN has run into an old problem with streaming through apps. Many users have complained about identification errorsand by the time the thing was fixed it was too late, because a game lasts 90 minutes.
Problems in DAZN, and apologies in Movistar and Orange
The case is reminiscent, for example, of the problems that Bein had years ago, when they temporarily had to resort to YouTube due to the lack of platform stability. More recently, we also had problems with the Mitele Plus. (Good) streaming is hard.
Although DAZN broadcasts five exclusive matches per day, what is relevant is that the platform has reached agreements to be part of the Movistar+ and Orange offer, so users who have contracted football with these companies they have had to resort to the DAZN channel to watch some games from this first weekhighlighting Barcelona – Rayo Vallecano.
Those users who wanted to see the different meetings through the decoders had no problem. The failures came when users wanted to view the matches from, for example, a mobile. In that case, they had to go to the DAZN app (after prior registration enabled by both operators). There the controversy was born after the impossibility of accessing.
In order for our customers to have access, we have temporarily incorporated the DAZN LaLiga channels into our Orange TV app so that they can be viewed from any device. You will find them on channels 112 and 113. (2/2)

Due to the above, and to guarantee Movistar customers access to all matches and from any device, the DAZN football CHANNELS will also be available on the M+ App.

Movistar and Orange have recognized the problem, and what both have done for the moment is to integrate the DAZN LaLiga channel as part of the programming of their own applications, Movistar Plus+ and Orange TV.
It is not what had been announced when the agreements between the three parties were counted, but the truth is that for the user it is the most comfortablesince there is no obligation to use one app to watch some games and another app to watch others.
DAZN Spain sources have confirmed to Xataka that the incidents that users commented on social networks existed. Upon detecting them, they comment that they offered alternatives so that they could enjoy the content, such as enabling an alternative link.
They have also pointed out that the problems were not exclusive to Spainbut it was a global issue that also affected other markets where there are national competitions since before this season and where the platform has previously been stable with many users.
They comment that the objective from now on is to ensure good service, something that they affirm has been the trend in days like yesterday, Monday. We will have to wait to see how the broadcasts continue. Other platforms were fixing the problems with the passing of the daysand for example Bein became the only OTT that has offered LaLiga in 4K on Smart TV apps.
